Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma with some hints of chocolate. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel finish with some hints of chocolate in the aftertaste.

On tap at 21A. Very dark brown with slight red highlights and a small beige head. Caramel and a touch of chocolate on the nose. The flavor is dominated by sweet caramel, with some dark bread-crust and a little coffee. Low bitterness and minimal hop flavors. Medium-light bodied and just a little sticky. A pretty nice and drinkable dark lager. Clean and relatively well balanced, though a touch on the sweet side.

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Near black, minimal head. Roasty and very fruity. Light bodied with clean mouthfeel. There’s yellow plums and coffee as wel as molasses. Low-medium bitterness. A bit rough and almost cardboardy.
