3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In the brewery tap on 5th Feb 2013, during ’Strong Beer Month’.
Pours a pleasant amber colour, clear, with a full beige head.
Mixed bag of flavours and smells: hops obviously rule throughout but there is an undertone of semi-sweet caramel/malty molasses in the brew also. Citrus based hop aroma, comes through into the taste nicely but doesn’t take over completely. The alcohol level is noticeable but not to the beers detriment, it suited the strong flavours well.
