Like FDR’s Depression-Era Radio Addresses, which were like a kick in the butt and a hug at the same time, our Fireside Chat is a subtle twist on the traditional seasonal brew. We begin with a rich, dark, English-style ale and then we improvise with spices until we know we have a beer worth sharing with the nation. Celebrating the right to be original.

Drier than expected, three finger beige head. The aroma of the allspice was nice, could benefit from vanilla

Draught. Dark brown with reddish tint, small beige foamy head, nutmeg and vanilla aroma, low carbonation, burnt malt taste, thin body, longish finish with burnt aftertaste. One of those great start poor ending brews.

Canned from Woodland. Roasty nose, reminds me of a strong brown. Roasted malty flavors with a decent spice flavor.

Appearance- semi clear/opaque (dark but let a little light through). Dark Amber, mahogany brown. Big bubbly mocha head that lasted a good bit. Nice lacing. Smell- clean, malty, spices and clove. Dark chocolate. Taste- bitter, toasted malt, spicy (and sweet). Mouthfeel- light body (surprisingly). Smooth and creamy. Very little carbonation. Overall- so so/ok. After seeing and smelling, the mouthfeel and taste disappointed. Was expecting more. Not a bad beer, but nothing noteworthy. Cheers!

12 oz can. Aroma: malty, with biscuit, strong fall spices, and NyQuil. Taste/Palate: sweet throughout; starts creamy, and finishes crisp, astringent, and bitter. Pretty great for a winter warmer.

Poured from a 12oz can. Aroma is somewhat of a cheap candle or potpourri. Flavor is a bit woody and piney. Definitely has a winter sweet spice profile to it. Finishes very astringent.

Malty, molasses like aroma. Appearance is brown with a slight brown with an off white head with poor retention. Flavor is full of caramel with strong notes of a blended spices including notes of nutmeg. Beer has a high amount of hop bitterness which dries out the malt. Mouthfeel is medium full with a spice astringency on the end. Overall, the spice blend is muddled. The combination of high spicing, high hop bitterness & large amounts of caramel all clash together. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can into pint glass, deep rusty brown color with tan head. Aroma of allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel malt sweetness and some roast. Taste is heavy on the spice notes adding notes of toast, faint vanilla, molasses, booze and earthy/grassy hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body, moderate carbonation, sticky with spicey roast finish. It’s a winter spice bomb for sure balanced with sticky sweetness.
