Like FDRís Depression-Era Radio Addresses, which were like a kick in the butt and a hug at the same time, our Fireside Chat is a subtle twist on the traditional seasonal brew. We begin with a rich, dark, English-style ale and then we improvise with spices until we know we have a beer worth sharing with the nation. Celebrating the right to be original.

Like a beautiful woman with an STD Smells great looks fantastic One taste and youíre sorry you brought her home. They emptied the cupboard on this one and thereís so much going on you cannot focus on one taste. the smoky chocolate aroma is overcome by bitterness in the first taste. A shame have had much better from this brewer

Pint on tap - mahogany color, good lacing with a nice persistent foamy head. Roasty toasty taste, not a whole lot else (where are the spices that everyone else tastes?), slight alcohol, not hoppy at all - kinda gnarly

12oz can. No pour. Sipping right out of can. Aroma is sweet with malt and spice. Taste nice with hints of cloves, nutmeg and ginger.

12oz bottle, via trade from someone awesome Iím sure, pours with a clear ruby red to amber body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up lots of spices like ginger and cinnamon and then it gets into some malty sweetness. The taste delivers firm levels of winter spices but the malts and modest degree of molasses help keep the spices from being overwhelming. Pretty nice as slivers of dark roasted malts surface here and there creating another facet to the experience. Overall for this beer the spices could be scaled back a bit to achieve improved balance and flavor harmony. Pretty nice winter beer though.

Dark brown with medium tab head. Roasted malt and winter spice aromas. Taste is lots of roasty malt and pie or cookie spices. A bit sweet, a bit bitter. A bit like German lebkuchen. Pleasant winter beer and not to bad in July either.

12oz can. Poured a deep amber, almost brown color with a large sized off white head. Lots of spices ... Iím not an overall crazy spice type of guy and these spices did not agree with me.

Can sample at a tasting at work. Clear copper dark brown with a foamy white head. Cinnamon and some clove in the nose. Mildly bitter with a little wood and a little alcohol in the mouth. Medium body and a little alcoholic finish.

Can shared at a tasting at Mastikim. Pours brown with a nice head, aroma of pumpkin and spices, flavor is pretty much the same, medium bodied.

Pours dark red light brown. Big spiced aroma of cinnamon, prune, and nutmeg. Sips medium full with a strong dark fruit malty presence. Hop balance is solid with a moderate hop bitterness that is evident in the finish. The hop flavor is more strong than in most winter beers with a nice resiny earthy tone. Slight coffee notes as well that ljnger. Hop bitterness plus medium carbonation make this a very dry and attenuated winter spiced beer. My type of winter brew!

A- Pours a deep, dark, reddish black hue with a nice, frothy 1.5 finger off white head. S- Sweet maltiness, mixed spices, cinnamon, coriander, clove. T- Indistinct sweetness off the bat followed by clove and cinnamon. Finishes with a slight malt liquor flavor that is a bit offputting M- Medium bodied with medium/high carbonation. D- Definitely a decent winter warmer. A bit one dimensional and the alcohol in the finish makes it seem bigger than it is.
