A very nice color, nose is spiced pie. Flavor is a spice not unlike nutmeg. A very nice winter drink, very refreshing and warms the body. A definite beer to add to your drunk list.

Absolutely delicious winter brew. Well done, 21st Amendment crew. Perfect complement to pork tenderloin and roasted vegetables. Highly recommend for all fall and winter holiday meals.

12 oz can into Sam Adams lager glass. Pours a deep brown murky hue with a medium head with nice retention and nice lacework. Aroma is packed: clove, cinnamon, nutmeg...metal (knowing this brewery, this will go away shortly......it does). Taste starts out sweet and then turns sour; a slight bitterness comes out as it warms. Carbonation is medium; body is medium-full; chewy. Definitely the best "winter warmer" I’ve ever had.

On a cold dark night this beer is just what the doctor ordered. One of the more flavorful winter Warmers.

THOUGHTS: Interesting. Definitely different. A nice surprise. Not what I was expecting since it was labeled spiced, not sour.
TECHNICAL: Can. Poured a dark, brownish red that was basically brown in the glass with a large to huge, tan, head that kept a thin sheet and left fair lacing. The aroma was moderate, roasted and caramel malts; hints of chocolate; smoke, cola, sour fruit and light spices. The initial flavor was moderate sweet, lightly sour and lightly bitter; while the finish was lightly sweet, moderately to rather sour, rather acetic and moderately bitter with a fairly long duration. There was smoke, chocolate, roasted malt and sour and dark fruit. The medium body was slightly oily, but also a little watery with lightly fizzy carbonation and lightly chalky and moderately astringent finish.

12oz can: Pours a deep ruby/brown color with a lacy white head. Sweet, spicy floral notes with almost wine/grape/alcohol notes coming through. Medium body, somewhat fruity and tart. Finishes slightly tart/bitter with sour cherry/wine like qualities. Definite sweet/spicy notes throughout. Different kind of beer and actually very enjoyable. This would make a great fall beer or winter warmer. Overall, if you like some tart/fruit/wine-like notes in your beer, definitely check this out! (B+)

From the can purchased at The BeerHive in Pittsburgh. I’m having trouble understanding the low opinions on what I thought was a relatively fantastic beer. There are a million mystery tastes to explore here, and a smoothness on the swallow that has few rivals. Knowing that FDR enjoyed his alcoholic beverages to a large degree is a good pairing to this not to be missed ale. Eagerly looking forward to 21st Amendment’s other offerings.
