3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mild nutty aroma, with just a touch of spice. Pours a dark brown, with ruby highlights when held up to the light, with a thin cap of light brown head. The spicing is the predominant flavor in this beer, with just a touch of malt in the back end. The spicing is reminiscent of Anchorís Our Special Ale, so if you like that beer, this would be another one to try. The palate is a bit astringent, but itís a nice sipping beer. I may have to pick some more of this one up and see how it holds up over time.

12oz can. Poured a deep amber, almost brown color with a large sized off white head. Lots of spices ... Iím not an overall crazy spice type of guy and these spices did not agree with me.

Can sample at a tasting at work. Clear copper dark brown with a foamy white head. Cinnamon and some clove in the nose. Mildly bitter with a little wood and a little alcohol in the mouth. Medium body and a little alcoholic finish.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours dark red light brown. Big spiced aroma of cinnamon, prune, and nutmeg. Sips medium full with a strong dark fruit malty presence. Hop balance is solid with a moderate hop bitterness that is evident in the finish. The hop flavor is more strong than in most winter beers with a nice resiny earthy tone. Slight coffee notes as well that ljnger. Hop bitterness plus medium carbonation make this a very dry and attenuated winter spiced beer. My type of winter brew!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A- Pours a deep, dark, reddish black hue with a nice, frothy 1.5 finger off white head.
S- Sweet maltiness, mixed spices, cinnamon, coriander, clove.
T- Indistinct sweetness off the bat followed by clove and cinnamon. Finishes with a slight malt liquor flavor that is a bit offputting
M- Medium bodied with medium/high carbonation.
D- Definitely a decent winter warmer. A bit one dimensional and the alcohol in the finish makes it seem bigger than it is.

Reminds me of some if the Pumpkin Ale's that come out in the Fall. Not a bad tasting beer, but only one is enough.

Can sample at a tasting at Mastikim. Thanks zvikar. Brown color with a beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sweetish flavor, malty, a bit toasty, caramelly, a bit nutty, with some spiciness and a slightly bitter finish, a bit roasty. Medium-bodied.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Saw a review for this online and hoped that it would make itís way to Japan, luckily I found it online! Another gorgeous can from 21st Amendment via Sugaya. 7.9% winter warmer served in a snifter. A dark cola brown with a light beige head that leaves quickly but makes some minor lacing. The nose is spices all the way with nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon over a chocolate base. The body is creamy med-full with a spicy flavor, straight from the fridge the spicing is somewhat subdued letting roasted bitter chocolate notes through. Itís truly a winter warmer you want to drink by the fireside, each sip gives you slightly different variations on fruity, spicy, earthy dark beers. Quite good.
