3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 joet (1873) - Fulton, USA - MAR 13, 2002
Deep dark roasty all over, bit of charcoal, light bodied, nitrogenated, appreciable but not substantial hops. These are lighter, not necessarily more balanced brews and a daring move in a region full of gargantuan beers.

On tap at the brewery. This dark brown ale poured with a foamy tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a thin chocolate malt flavor with a litlle coffed. A mediocre brew.

Tap at the brewery. Dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, roast, and chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and a somewhat hoppy finish. Seemed like more than 28 IBUs. Palate pretty standard for the style.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 PilsnerPeter (2959) - Flushing, New York, USA - APR 14, 2009
Tap at the brewpub: Deep brown/ruby hue with a tan ring of head. Mildly sweet aroma with notes of cocoa and not much roast. Light body with a bit too much carbonation (especially for a Porter). Papery flavor- some cocoa and nutty notes but it’s a bit thin and one dimensional overall.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ABUSEDGOAT (1937) - California, USA - APR 21, 2008
Draft at brewpub: reddish brown color. Fairly light color even for a porter. Aroma is chocolate, PNW hops, caramel, some roast and coffee. Medium to light body, quite sweet. While the description might sound promising, the beer itself lacks refinement.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ramenen (463) - San Salvador, EL SALVADOR - APR 9, 2008
Drank it on tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown/amber color. Smokey aroma, very ashy, like smoking a cigar, but light bodied.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Delirium (589) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 8, 2008
Draught at the brewpub. Pours black with brown highlights and a small off-white head. Aroma is light roasted malt, with some rich chocolate notes. Flavor is mainly roasted malt, mostly rich but a little ashy in places, with a hint of hops in the finish. Slightly thin mouthfeel. Middle-of-the-road, but good.
