The story starts in 1999 when Shaun O’Sullivan walked into my Seattle pub. He’d heard about my massive pumpkin fest and wanted to get together and brew a pumpkin beer like no other: a Baltic-style Porter brewed with pumpkin, caraway and cinnamon. In a light colored can.

12 oz can poured into a pint glass. Pours dark opaque black with medium mocha head. Aroma is mild pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and a bit of chocolate. Taste is similar, somewhat watery body and thin mouthfeel. Chocolate dominates the flavor, cardamom, cinnamon, and dry pumpkin spice are there but lesser. Doesn’t taste like 8.2%. For my money, easily better than the accompanying Tripel, but still lacking in body for a Baltic porter. As with the Tripel, worth calling out the packaging - top notch with these guys. Really unique, distinctive, and fun!

Can. Brownish-black pour, excellent mocha colored head with excellent retention. Nose is Cinnamon, roasted barley, dark malts. Mouth is medium bodied, nice balance of bitter and sweet, cocoa, pumpkin, yams, spices, caramel. Bit thin but still decent.

can. i’ve heard a lot about eysians assortment of pumpkin beers, but this is great! unfortunately, this is probably also the lamest can art of all time. black with a small brown stable head. bread, cinnamon, dark malts aroma. incredibly smooth and silky palate. a unique flavor that blends something like cinnamon toast, with roasted malt, and sweet potatoes. pretty nice.

Almost fruity. It tastes like a good Porter with maybe a Scotch Ale in the mix.

Can: Dark brown pour with a small beige cap. Light nose of cinnamon and hints of pumpkin hidden in the sweet roasty scent. Spices get a little heavy in the taste; I wish it had more of the sweeter Baltic porter roast. Light pumpkin presence. Overall a decent twist on the BP.

Can.... cant remember where I picked this can up from but it has been sitting in my fridge since oct of 2014. Nice dark color... small head....nothing to brag about but solid looking brewski. Nose is some pumpkin spices... Taste pretty much follows the nose... light spices, pumpkin.....body is light and really easy to drink for a beer that is over 8%. Overall; beer that I enjoyed and recommend

Hmm. "A Baltic-style porter lager brewed with pumpkin and spices." It pours out like it means what it says - black, with a foaming lid. The can label appears to be drawn by a cartoonist whose work I’ve seen before, but I’m not sure where. Funky, humid, floral aroma. The taste is full on chocolaty and smoky, with a warm, chili-like finish. The sugary taste is balanced with some nice bitterness, and there are dashes of pumpkin pie and cinnamon. Very good indeed.

Not too bad. Tastes like a sweet porter with pumpkin spices... Not anything extremely crazy.

tastes like a big old pumpkin muffin, bready and winter spice. Some of the porter roast grains shine through, and a hint of alcohol warmth make this a nice fall/winter quaff. Dark bodied in color, medium weight mouth feel, fairly slick and oily. Small beige head caps this off.

Pours a solid black with a tan head and lacing. It has a nice aroma of cinnamon, pumpkin, and coriander. The flavor is spices up front with a pumpkin and spice backbone and a sweet finish over a medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
