COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The story starts in 2010 when Dick Cantwell walked into our San Francisco pub. We’d heard about his little pumpkin fest and wanted to get together to brew a pumpkin beer like no other: a Belgian-style Tripel brewed with pumpkin, galangal and terragon. In a dark colored can.

12 oz can poured into a pint glass. Pours cloudy golden orange with thin white head. Aroma is punchy caraway and a slightly sweet nutty flavor. Taste is thin light caramel malt with a somewhat abrasive earthy spicy finish. Notes of pumpkin spice, nutmeg, and clove. Not at all sweet, quite bitter on the finish. Can’t say I’d suspect this was a Tripel at all. The box, the can, the story - these guys are simply the best in the biz at packaging. Yet again.

Can to pint glass. Pour is very dark with an off white head. Aroma is pumpkin pie spices and dark fruit. Taste is very pumpkin with lots of all spice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Finish is decently slick. Good pumpkin Belgian trippel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from SL. Poured in to a snifter, nice head. Smells and looks like your typical tripel. Golden straw color. Nose is bread, malts, flowers, light perfume. Taste is right on spot for a tripel with just a touch of pumpkin/spice at the end. Not really a pumpkin beer but I like how they didn’t go crazy and over do it. Upfront is bread, crystal malt, light flowers and perfume, followed by a hint of spiced pumpkin. Body is light a bubbly, refreshing and hides the alcohol well. Smoooooth drinker. Overall, nice little twist on a tripel. Bravo...

Can from GE. Pours crystal clear orange/amber, 1 finger head, frothy white and dissipating quickly. Fruity nose ofapple, lemon, and bubble gum. Notes of thyme, orange, lemon, apple and bubble gum. Dry and mildly bitter. Pretty damn solid

Can from 4 pack. Pours a dark golden color with a off white head. Some lacing. Smells of spices and pumpkin pie. Tastes of nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, bread, lemon, and some malt. Nice seasonal taste. Lingering spices and dryness.

Canned 7/31/14. This was poured into a chalice. The appearance was a light hazy orange color with a slim one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Ample amount of light lacing glosses around the glass. The smell had a light spiced apple/maybe ginger and super light pumpkin spice in a sticky cinnamon sort of way. The taste was mainly the same with a sticky sweet pumpkin to apple aftertaste with a sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body. It was somewhat sessionable. There’s a decent sticky sweet to spicy finish that’s nice. Overall, I say this was a good tripel dedicated to Autumn. Yeah, I would bang this again.

12oz can into a goblet. Pours a nearly clear light gold with a half finger white head that fades away to some thin lacing fairly quickly. Not really any lacing at all. Unimpressive for a tripel. Aroma has loads of Belgian yeasty esters mixed with some unusual spices although I wouldn’t exactly call it pumpkin. Some grass and fruit but the Belgian character sticks out more than anything. The flavor very closely follows the aroma with Belgian yeast dominating and going heavy on the banana and clove. Nice shot of grassy hops along with just a light touch of nutmeg and cinnamon but it is kind of hard to tell they are there. Very light breadiness in the background leading to a somewhat sweet finish and some lingering bitterness. Overall, I like the baltic porter better than this one. There just isn’t much in the way of pumpkin character here and it ends up being more like a messy tripel. Still, it is a good beer but not really to style.

Must let this warm. God this smells good at room temperature: Clove, cinnamon, pie crust, pumpkin, dark orange. Medium body, stickier than I expected. Really nice sipper.

Transfer from BA review on 11-20-13- Served on tap in a chalice glass Appearance – The beer is served a hazy light amber-orange color with a one finger pure white head. The tick and creamy head fades very slowly, leaving a fantastic level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is overall very sweet. It is heaviest of a sweet apricot and peach and some lighter fruits of apple and pear. Along with these smells is a nice pumpkin pie smell with some pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice aromas all present. While at first thought the light fruit and pumpkin pie may not seem to meld well, they actually are very nice together, creating a combination smell of a pumpkin and apple/peach pie like smell. Rather sweet, fruity, spiced, and delicious Taste – The taste begins with a sweet citrus flavor mixed with a rather doughty and bready taste. Some flavors of a non-roasted pumpkin flavor are present upfront, with them remaining relatively constant throughout the taste. As the flavor advances it sweetens even more with flavors of other lighter fruits of apricot and peach coming to the tongue. Along with these flavors comes some of the light pumpkin pie flavors that were detected in the nose. These spice flavors remain relatively light, but strong enough to exert their presence. The sweeter light fruit flavors of the brew grow rather strong at the end of the taste, mixing with the rest to leave a light fruit flavored, lightly pumpkin pie and very enjoyable flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average to thicker side for a triple of 8.2 % with a carbonation level that rather low. The lower carbonation and slightly thicker body are actually quite nice for accentuating the pumpkin pie spice flavors of the brew allowing the lighter flavors to be highlighted all while not overwhelming the taste of the beer. Overall – This was a rather enjoyable drinking brew. Just enough pumpkin pie to give the flavor, all while maintaining enough lightness to maintaining a very easy drinking and non offensive taste. Sweeter, fruity, and lightly pumpkin pie spiced with a very easy drinking and delicious taste.

Can form the cube 4 pack. Can dated 7/31/2014 stamped on bottom. Mostly clear copper color with nearly no head. Aroma is rather odd. Indeed Belgian yeast with a nice character of gourd, light nutmeg.

For me the Belgian yeast and pumpkin clash a bit. Spicy yeast, bready malt base, notes of honey. Mild bitterness from spices with a creamy texture that becomes dry. After about 6 oz. it got very cloying.

Aromas of raw pumpkin, squash, green spices, kind of curry-like, doughy. Slightly hazy orange-gold with a mostly lasting fluffy white head. Some sweetness balanced pretty well with spice flavors. Full bodied, sticky but pretty smooth, earthy spicy finish.
