RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA May 30, 2009 Tasted on tap. Fairly pronounced watermelon aroma. No watermelon flaovr till the midpalate and aftertaste; then it comes on strong. Not bad. BroSpud (584), , Massachusetts, USA May 17, 2009 Tasting at a beerfest [Disclaimer: This was tasted along with many, many other beers during a tasting at Julios. Some of the details are a little hazy]. Did not expect to like this one but it’s actually pretty good. The watermelon tasted real as opposed to some of the rasberry or cherry beers that taste like syrup had been added. Very drinkable and refreshing. glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA May 17, 2009 12oz can. Pours hazy golden from the can. Sweet watermelon is the focal point, with crisp wheat malts staying in the background. There is a subtle tartness/funk that is indeed unique. Some might find this to be a perfect summer beer, but it might not be for everyone (including me). maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 17, 2009 Can at Whole Foods - Fair Lakes on 05/16/2009. Clear pale golden body with a small white head. Grainy wheat aroma with fruity notes. Sweet watermelon Jolly Rancher flavor with faint wheat. Medium light body with moderately high carbonation.
halfonit (423), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA May 16, 2009 Yellow color. Has hardly any scent of watermelon. Smells more of stale malts and yeast. Taste has mostly malts with very little watermelon. If you don’t drink it in the first 5 mins, the watermelon flavor goes completely away. Not a great experience overall. A first and last. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA May 12, 2009 SpringsLicker’s Fish Fry. Sample from a can thanks to Suttree. Hazy pinkish yellow with a thin white fuzz. Ugly watermelon jolly rancer aroma. Taste is simple watermelon juice, not very sweet though. CapedBrewsader (260), Brasschaat, Belgium May 11, 2009 Updated: May 18, 200912oz can at home: Clouded gold with a fading and somewhat creamy white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of summer fruits. Seems more like light strawberries, but when you think about watermelon it does come out. Sugary malt foundation. Typical wheat notes only comes up when you swirl the glass. Citrus also gets played up. The watermelon is released on the tongue along with full blown grainy wheat. Fresh watermelon with a touch of watermelon Jolly Rancher coming from underneath. Touches of sweetener under some of the crisp and tangy wheat. A bit of grain is driven into the back of the throat by the CO2. The watermelon turns more "artificial" as you work your way down, but still works. Light metallic notes on the end. A refreshing twist and kept simple. Take it for what it is, not a complex quaffer but a simple summer wheat. BeerBaby (62), , Tennessee, USA May 8, 2009 Tasted this at the Springs Lick tasting fish fry from a can. Taste of artificial watermelon flavor. More like a soda than a beer and not even a good soda. I doubt I will be trying this again.
