September 2006- on tap in SanFran: Greenish yellow- unappealing color with a small head on top. Crushed grain nose and taste. Some ....totally boring watermelon too. Plain.

On tap at the 2007 OBF in Portland, Oregon. Poured a hazy blond body with a medium whit ehead. Possessed a healthy dose of fresh watermelon juice—no flavor additives. To be exact, each batch makes use of 400 pounds of pressed juice giving the beer an aroma and flavor of its namesake. The beer is light, smooth, and slightly dry (5.5% ABV, 17 IBUs). Biscuity light nose. Very sessionable.

Hazy light blond color. Very light aroma, a bit sour and with some fruit, watery, dry, a bit fruity flavor. Bad.

Let me say first, that I’m still far from being a brett fan. I guess it’s an acquired taste; way too sour for me right now. But this beer is a really nice brett gateway. For one, it isn’t overloaded with brett; just spiced with it. Second, watermelon works very very well with brett--if you’re unfamilar with brett think cidery sour; so this beer is watermelon with a sour kick. Works very well together. And a perfect craft beer for a hot day.

GABF 2007: Poured a hazy golden yellow color. You can really pick up watermelon in the aroma and flavor. Wheaty malt. Light body and flavor. Not bad. Would be nice in the heat.

A wheat beer with a light hint of watermelons. I usually don’t like fruit beers so the less fruit flavor the better. Not bad.

Wheaty aroma, slight fruity watermelon aromas. Pours light blonde a little hazy and yellow. Wheaty flavor, lightly fruity, not a lot of detectable watermelon.

(Can) Pours hazy yellow. Wheat aroma with salty and light sour notes. Undertones of doughy bread and carrot juice. Maybe a tiny bit fruity. Watermelon and wheat flavour with a salty sting. Light fruity and sour citric. Watery but round mouthfeel. A bit tart and dry. Light to medium bodied.
