Bronze body, ok head. Lighly hopped aroma with mild wheatiness, but it is absent any trace of watermelon. The flavor, however; starts with a well-stated warmelon and jolly rancher underpinning to a roughly wheaty body with a sour-bitter finish.

12 oz. can. Pours a hazy pale gold with a moderate white head. Mild aroma of wheat along with a bit of watermelon, although I’m not sure that I would have recognized it as watermelon without reading the can. The flavor is again wheat and watermelon, although the watermelon is more of a presence in the flavor than the aroma and easily identified. Thin, watery body. I thought watermelon was a great idea for a beer, but I was expecting more watermelon than what I got in this beer.

12 oz can. Pours a hazy yellow gold with an ample bubbly bright white head and a few floating pieces which look like parts of watermelon. Aroma is sweet and very fruity reminds me more of a mango or papaya then watermelon. Flavor is like a light macro beer with some added fruit notes. Not muc noticable wheat in either the aroma or the flavor. Body is thin and carbonation seems to be forced more like a seltzer then a craft beer. Funny at an average score of 2.82, when I rated it anyway, this seems overrated.

7/18/2009: 21st Amendment Watermellon Wheat has a hazy light golden appearance. It has a slightly sour wheat aroma, but the flavor has lots of real watermelon. The underlying wheat beer is still noticeable behind the watermelon. This beer finishes dry. Overall it is freshing and very good for the style. It is probably the biggest surprise of the day since I wasn’t really sure what to expect...

Hazy color. Gold. Very subtle melon aroma, the malt over powered it. I felt it had a bit too much of a wheat/ doughy flavor that over powered the melon taste. Would be good outside on a hot day. I expect a small slice of melon served with the beer would make the flavor really pop.

Pours hazy canary with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is pale malt, hopcitrus, slight watermelon juice. Tastes of slight watermelon, not a strong component, plus pale malt, mild hops. A decent summer beer, but only average technically and overall. Still, you don’t see watermelon beers much, and I truly enjoy them in the summer. I just wish this one had more watermelon flavor.
