Can from Belmont (first of probably hundreds of purchases there). Pours a clear, light gold color with a small white head. Big fruity hop aroma; almost all sweetness and no resin. Very well balanced and relatively tame for the style but you can tell there’s some weight behind it. Seriously almost 11ABV...you can’t taste it. Well done. Thanks for canning.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Aubrey (3347) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUN 24, 2011
After my first whiff and first sip, I was instantly hooked. This is one delicious beer. Clear and bright golden with a bubblicious head. Just the nose alone was enough to make my mouth water. Rich malt flavors had lots of caramel and Hawaiian bread. Super bold hop flavors and aromas (bright pine and citrus), but bitterness was very smooth and balanced. Alcohol’s hidden tremendously well ... dangerously well, actually. Super delicious beer.

Surprisingly complex. The oak is obvious but well blended with the other flavors, though it dominates the aroma. The hops are supporting characters rather rhan dominating everyone. Love the can and graphics.

Poured a clear and rich golden, with a finger’s worth of head. The aroma is a hop cornucopia. There is citrus, floral, pine resin and even a bit of spruce. Taste has the resin quite strong up front with the floral and pine hops coming in shortly thereafter. Finish has a fair amount of floral and resin, but fairly clean otherwise. This beer, as bitter and strong as it is, is also quite drinkable. The high abv is just barely noticeable on the aftertaste. Highly recommended hop head delight.

Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 06/17/2011. The beer is a golden-orange color with a medium foamy off-white head that recedes slowly. Sticky rings of lacing. Aroma of piney hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of hops, grapefruit and biscuity malt. The finish is hoppy with a lingering citrus aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

12oz canned June 6th. Very fresh. Served at around 45F.
Pours clear golden amber with a two finger off white head that leaves some rings of lacing and holds a small cap.
Aroma is peach, apricot, pineapple, citrus such as tangerine and grapefruit, as well as some caramel, bread, oak and vanilla. Very good strength.
Flavor is citrus, grapefruit, orange, lemon, some peach and a bit of tropical fruit, oak, vanilla, bready malt, and some noticeable alcohol. Minimal sweetness with strong finishing bitterness. Nice.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with good carbonation.
Damned good oak-aged DIPA. Very aromatic with the hops really shining through but the oak aging adds some subtle complexity.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 mixmasterob (837) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUN 21, 2011
Clear golden pour with a small white head. Aroma was sweet bready malts out front, candy, some citrus and piney hops. Flavors were also citrusy, big bitter presence from top to bottom. A light vanilla oakyness came through in the finish, along with the bittersweet. Carbonation was light to medium, mouthfeel was big and chewy. Left a pleasant, bitter, fruitiness on the palate long after each sip. Good stuff. No booze to be found..
