The name is a tribute to the hop shortage a few years ago. An imperial IPA aged on oak spirals using Columbus, Centennial and cascades as the bittering hops and dry hopping with Simcoe, Ahtanum, Amarillo, and Cascades.

On tap @ McMenamins. Golden yellow pour - clear and very slight white head. Aroma is sweet and gummy hoppy but not over the top. Flavor is a complex melange of hops - assertive bitterness yo front followed by fruity piney flavors. Malt body is substantial and nicely supports he prodigious hop flavors while remaining mostly neutral and in he background.

[Can (12oz)] Pours a clear gold with an average size long-lasting frothy white head. Minimal lacing. Sweet and hoppy aroma along with wood, honey, some alcohol, a good amount of fruit and a light vegetal note. Flavour is also sweet and hoppy along with fruit, alcohol and bready malt. Medium bodied. Not as good as expected but pretty good.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home after a somewhat rough work Friday, happy that’s done for the week! This is a pretty damn good one here. Appearance is a lightly cloudy gold with a prominent and billowy white head. Aroma of oak, caramel malt, smells hoppy. Taste is nice, definitely potent, very much barley-wine esque. Not as malty as a barley wine though. Done well, good stuff.

Can, pours a clear straw color and topped with a thick finger of white head. Intense sheet lacing. Sweet scents of citrus and tropical fruit, some pine. Sweet taste, lightly bitter. Syrupy and rich. The hop balance is spot-on, this is really enjoyable.

It pours golden. It has aromas of citrus, and caramel. It has flavors of ctirus, caramel, floral and dark fruits. It has a high bitter kick on the palate.

Can. Slightly hazy yellow gold pour with a big white head. Appricott, citrus, melon, pine. Medium body. Hides the alcohol well. Fruity throughout with bitter sweet finish. Great job

(12oz. can) - Two-fingered foamy head. Lots of big bubbly carbonation in the glass. Clear golden body. Fresh piney aroma. Flavors of Ruby Red Grapefruit and apricot. Fresh pine resin in the aftertaste, which dissipates fairly quickly to a dull roar. A very memorable brew for my 800th! But, 9.7% brew in a can? YOUZA!!
