COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name is a tribute to the hop shortage a few years ago. A imperial IPA aged on oak using Columbus, Centennial and cascades as the bittering hops and dry hopping with Simcoe, Ahtanum, Amarillo, and Cascades.

Pours a nice light amber with a nice head. The only way I can describe it is as a hop explosion in your mouth. The first taste is actually alcohol, quickly followed by a multitude of hop flavors. Pine, citrus, it's all in there. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour is a hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma is a big citrus hop with some lemon-lime notes. Flavor is more of a honeydew melon and pear hop with wallop of alcohol. Finish is clean with notes of the fruity hops left on the tongue. The alcohol is here in a big way. Not a burning but more of a sinus clearing way. Still not a huge caramel malt bill to get in the way, this is all about the various hop varieties used. It’s tasty but powerful.

12 oz can from four pack purchased at Anderson’s Sawmill. Hop Crisis is a nearly clear golden yellow beer with a fine head of white bubbles. Nose is grass and grapefruit scent of hops. Taste is initially dry but sweet on the end. Medium malty but a good amount of hop presence that becomes more prevalent towards the back end. Body is very lively. a very nice DIPA.

Can into tulip glass, clear light amber-hued golden color with white head. Aroma notes of citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruits, tad lemon, pine, some spices, malt sweetness and faint oak. Taste adds mango, pineapple, orange, peach, resin, honey and some grass bitterness. Heavy-medium body, low-moderate carbonation, sticky, dry with surprisingly quick tropical bitter finish. Not getting much oak at all but a surprisingly refreshing tropical-leaning DIPA.

12oz can from Binnys in Highland Park - perfect while cutting the grass. Got that lemony light orange hop that is seldom used. Bells Oracle overwhelms it. Solid, and a good one from this brewery. 13.9

Pours a nice gold with tons of pure white head and lace. Aroma was citrus, tropical fruit, malt sweetness. Taste was a nice balance of grapefruit and pine. A bit of mango and spice. Nice oily mouthfeel with a floral aftertaste. Just a good balanced IPA that’s easy to drink.

This is a fantastic imperial ipa. Aroma of hoops and pine. Strong piney and hoppy flavors. Pours gold in color with a thin head. Nice balanced hop and pine finish

Poured from the can of a fridge 4-pack, the can has some confusing stuff written about it, but I did like the drawings of beavis n butthead as convicts. Got some ok hops going on but not a fan of the oaky. Kind of dry and gritty at the end probably from the barrel. I gave a point for the 9.7% and another for the history lesson on the hop shortage. I used a half a can as a base in some chili and that worked out really well.

355ml can. Golden pour. Pungent smell: perfume, booze, oregano, spices, herbs, citrus, peach, vanilla. caramel. Bit too boozy on the nose, almost burns the nostrils. Flavor is odd. Extremely boozy for one, not much midpalate, it is kind of like a spicy imperial golden vanilla ale, not really a dipa. Finish is boozy with a fairly heavy bitterness. Surprised at the ratings, this is odd. THis burns booze.

Pours a pale golden color with a white head. Hop, citrus, floral, pine and biscuit aroma. Resinous hop, mango, grapefruit, pine, oak and biscuit flavors. Medium body and carbonation with a resinous hop and citrus finish.
