The name is a tribute to the hop shortage a few years ago. An imperial IPA aged on oak spirals using Columbus, Centennial and cascades as the bittering hops and dry hopping with Simcoe, Ahtanum, Amarillo, and Cascades.

Super piney smell and creamy white head. Oak is only apparent on the palate at the back of the finish. Nice way to tart up the palate instead of hop it out. Can was about a month older/fresher than I like to drink ipa’s, but it was still good. Needs a lil more balance on the malt bill to back up the hop an soaked flavor. Oaked flavor is subdued.

Hazy golden yellow with medium white head. Aroma of fresh grass and hay, flowers, touch of grapefruit. Medium body with creamy mouthfeel and slight alcohol. Flavor is mostly bitter, citrus and pine, malt is noticeable, good balance, dry crisp finish. Excellent.

Can from Parker Pie, 9.7%, served in an IPA glass it gives off an intensely jammy waft of stone fruits. Getting in for a closer whiff I get some boozy sharp heat, lots of malt caramel sweetness and hints of pine. Full bodied and quite a lusciously smooth mouthfeel. The taste is sharp peppery pine, jammy sweet stone fruit and a semi-dry herbal finish with some warmth radiating outwards from your stomach. Quite a good double IPA though I didn’t get anything from the oak spirals.

Aromas are very subtle but considering little amount of hops is used wasn’t too bad. Cloudy copper with white head. Amazing taste. Cotton candy, orange, bitter peel. Finished with a good alcohol bite. Fine example of what you can do with limited resources. Very well balanced and crafted. Cheers.

Can. Golden pour. Aroma has lots of hops, caramel, citrus, pineapple and peach. Bitter taste of citrus hops, pineapple, peach, mild caramel and a really bitter finish. Great hop bomb.

On tap at Gnarly Barley. Sweet pineapple and strawberry and overripe orange aroma with apricot notes. Slightly hazy copper under a lacy white, thin sheet. Flavour is salty with hops that are a blend of old and new world; apricot, pineapple, pine, strawberry, grapefruit. Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth and a little warming.

Light orange in color with a white lasting foam. Aroma is melon and tropical fruit. Mango, guava, and dragon fruit flavors with a significant bitterness in the finish.

A nice solid IPA. The flavor is hoppy with a quite bitter finish. A little too astringent for my wife, but I found it enjoyable.

can @ House of 1000 Beers / New Kensington PA --- $5.25 for this can - I expect Nirvana. Aroma of herbal and citruas hops + light malt. Clear medium / light amber color, frothy white head that stays at three-fingers, globs and bands of lace. Taste is a perfect half and half between caramel malt and an assortment of hops, primarily citrus. Medium carbonation completes the deal. It seems like a strong malty brew, but then it switches to a hoppy brew - each swallow seems to contradict the other,...and yes,... the alcohol is mysteriously hidden, so care must be given. Complex, balanced, not heavy at all, a superb brew.

Impressive brew. No distinctive aroma that i could catch. Deep amber orange...almost what I would call a pumpkin color. Tall white head laces nicely. Smooth flavor with enough sweetness to conceal any bitter with just a hint of dryness at the end.
