Poured at the brewery tap on 5th Feb 2013 during ’Strong Beer Month’, what a great afternoon I spent there, lost most of the evening, but had a wonderful while it was still light. Good looking brew: red amber body, maybe darker than I’ve described, on top an off-white head that hung around. Hop front in both the nose and mouth: citrus mostly, but spicy also. The malt content arrives close behind, some semi-sweet caramel notes compliment the hops nicely and help to balance the brew to prevent it being just another ’hop bomb, heavy alcohol West Coast brew’ that I came across while in San Fran. Most enjoyable.
