COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Back on April 7, 1933 President Roosevelt upheld a campaign promise and modified the Volstead Act (Prohibition) which allowed once again for the production and sale of beer and set the stage for the passage of the 21st Amendment on December 5th 1933. We are celebrating the 75th year anniversary of this date with a special brew, Repeal Rye. Come in and enjoy a pint and the start of the Giants' baseball season.

Tap at the brewpub: Orange pour with a dense light tan head. Sweet aroma with some peanut brittle, butterscotch (diacetyl), light rye (almost chocolaty). Sweet flavor as well- some off (diacetyl) notes. Buttery and sweet with a peppery light bitter finish. A bit off overall.

On tap at the brewery, 29th March 09. Lively amber with decent lacing. Clean rye taste, dry enough to be refreshing yet sweet too and smooth as it goes down.

On tap at 21st Amendment. Didn’t think this one was all that special. Copper color with a whitish head. Aroma is malty with mild hops. Flavor is caramel malt, rye, and slight citrusy hop notes. Medium-bodied, nothing special on the palate.

Tasted at the 5th Annual (2008) Triple Rock Firkin Fest. This rye ale poured a medium orange gold color. Small head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of hops. A medium bodied rye ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, with a touch of spiciness. The hops are earthy and floral. The firkin brings out a touch of spiciness. Nice soft carbonation. Nice balance. Very smooth taste. Would make a nice session ale. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Draft at brewpub: amber colored. Aroma is rye, bread, caramel, moderate to low hopping. Medium bodied, lightly sweet. Not my favorite...
