COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You might not expect a Saison in winter. But the enemy didn’t expect Washington to cross the icy Delaware, either. Expectations be damned, we say. We’re sneaking up on winter with a boatload of bravado and this Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Dry hopped with whole organic cardamom pods, our Saison has an assertive spiciness. In your face, winter.

12 Fl. Oz. Can. Poured a cloudy golden with a decent white head. Aroma of cardamom, other spices and citrus fruits and wine. Taste is quite spicy, mostly cardamon, some wine notes a bit dry but very nice.

12 oz can. Pours cloudy bright yellow with thin white lingering head. Aroma is big lemon and earthy spice notes. Taste is dry golden malt, with cardamom and pepper on the finish. Punchy and bracing. Easily one of the driest beers I’ve ever had. Big Saison.

Can. Clear, yellow very light head. Sweet and spiced aroma, lighter body, clean finish. Nice refreshing beer

Light golden with a slight haze, with a white head that recedes all too quickly. Aroma has a lot of spice up front, both of the yeast and spice-cabinet variety. The label says dry hopped with cardamom...not sure what cardamom smells like but I’d like to believe this is it in spades, with an almost nutmeg and grass tone in the nose as well. Flavor is light and crisp, though eccentric with a full palate. Earthy spice and nuttiness with a touch of allspice and nutmeg, with a pale malty grainy backbone, gentle saison-yeast sweetness, and a lasting though tamed bitterness. Tastes very belgian, which means I don’t know how to articulate the fact I enjoyed this brew.

12oz can. Pours a very pale yellow like a wit with a frothy head that dissipates quickly.

Something about a saison in a can doesn’t feel right. This pours a straw yellow with a thin white head. The aroma has Belgian spice, some orange, grass,. The flavor has the same but is overpowered by the cardamon. Dry and a bit thin.

Pours a crisp, clear straw yellow. Smell is lightly malty, with a bit of peppery spice. Taste is dry and spicy, clear notes of cardamom. The finish is nicely peppery and fairly bitter. Not bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not one of 21st Amendments best. Pours a boring clear dark yellow with a light white head. Smell is of cheap champagne, a little bit of vinegar. Taste is more like a common lager then a saison. Boring. Had on tap at EJ Phair. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a very pale yellow color with an enormous foamy white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was dryish egg whites, a touch of sulfur and citrus. The flavor was dry and chalky with notes of citric acid and Windex. Long dry chalk and Windex finish. Light to medium body. Not good.

Bottle @ Bruce’s birthday tasting. Cheers to the man himself! The pour’s light gold with a small head. The aroma’s brett, light cheese, graham cracker, dusty attic and moldy grape. Similar flavors. Plenty of pillowy brett. Marshmallow. Musty grape. Soft citrus. Lightly dry finish. Farmhouse yeast. Light body, active carbonation. Nice brett profile, but a bit simple. OK.
