COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You might not expect a Saison in winter. But the enemy didn’t expect Washington to cross the icy Delaware, either. Expectations be damned, we say. We’re sneaking up on winter with a boatload of bravado and this Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Dry hopped with whole organic cardamom pods, our Saison has an assertive spiciness. In your face, winter.

A good one, on tap at Capone’s. Light lemon white appearance. Pepper aroma, wavy lace. A tasty grapefruit spice treat.

12 oz. can from Dutch’s. Thanks, Chris! Pours a hazy, pale gold color with a big, rocky white head that laces the glass. Aroma of lemon, funk, florals, coriander, bready malts, and wheat. The flavor is the same, with some herbs and pepper. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a spicy, spritzy mouthfeel. Good saison.

12 ounce can, canned on 11/14/13. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a hazy gold color with an inch white head. There’s a small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like peppery spice, cardamom, bready/grainy malt, and some citrus. It tastes like wheat malt, lemon peel, clove, cardamom, peppery spice and some earthy/floralness. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s smooth and easy enough to drink. I liked this brew, it’s worth trying if you’ve never had it before.

12 oz can to tulip. Pours a hazy yellow, with a big white head that persists and leaves minimal lacing. Nose is all cardamom, and the taste follows the nose. Mouthfeel is thin, with a clean finish. If you like cardamom, as I do, you’ll like this. Very different, and pretty dang good.

Can. Yellow color with a white head. Fruity, malty, some grassy notes and a little bit of hops in the nose. Taste is smooth refreshing, and very easy to drink. Great beer for the 70 degree weather we have been experiencing. I liked it.

Pours hazy gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Lemon and yeast aromas. Sweet hay and yeast upfront turning to bitter earth and lemon in the medium length finish.

Nice. Comes together with a lot of tangy apple finish. Pours cloudy blonde with good head and lacing. Finishes with light sourness. Pours with big puffy cloudy of foam. Some hay. Tap at DC Beer festival.
