COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In a surprising turn of events, rival superpowers have joined forces to bring a beer of might to the world. According to top-secret documents, recently unclassified, brewmasters for 21st Amendment in California and Ninkasi in Oregon began their brewing careers together many years ago. ALLIES WIN THE WAR! is 21st Amendment Brewery’s first ever collaboration beer, a traditional English-style Strong ale aged on native California dates and dry hopped with all-Northwest aroma hops. Available now in limited edition four-pack cans and draft.

Old ale with dates.

12oz retro can at Rock N Roll Hotel on H St NE. Pours a clear crystal malt heavy reddish amber topped by a weak beige head. Sugary strawberry aroma. Taste is spicy vegetal and earthy onion atop sticky/sugary strawberry, bitter chocolate, older hop character. Specialty malt overload with odd vegetal character. Feels overall like a sticky sweet DIPA.

This beer pours a reddish-brown color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toffee, dark fruit and hops. Medium body with flavors of dark malt, figs/dates, hops and a bit of yeast. The finish is fruity with a resinous hops aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

12oz can: pours a transparent deep copper amber with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a lightly sweet toasty caramel malty nose with notes of rye and fresh resiny citrus hoppy nose. Starts with decent fullness and doughy toasted rye with dry herbal hoppy bitterness before a slightly astringent grapefruity finish. A pretty unique brew, but could use a little more sweetness.
