This is hazy yellow w/ a small head of mixed bubbles. It’s a nice, crisp blond overall and this is a style I’m beginning to really enjoy. The hopping is mild but w/ a distinct American character. It sounds like damning w/ faint praise but I feel compelled to mention this lighter beer is devoid of faint praise. I am into it. It’s a nice beer to drink.

Sample at the brewpub on 8/10/10. Clear gold pour with a thick white head. Creamy malt nose that’s a bit dense for the style. Not complaining. Malty flavor with a bit of creaminess and some crisp noble hops in the finish.

A: The pour is an amber-orange color with a big white head on it. S: A somewhat light nose with notes of spices, yeast, and lightly floral hops. There is an underlying bready quality to the beer as well. T: Quite bready with a hint of creaminess to it at first. The same light yeast note is present in the flavor, providing a slight spice flavor. As the beer warms up, it has a bit of a corn flavor. M: The body is light to medium with plentiful carbonation to the beer. D: One of the better blonde ales that I’ve had, but still sort of a pedestrian beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a clear golden body and a huge white head. Aroma of corn, grain, noble hops (saaz it seems like). Taste is dry, grainy, grassy and lightly fruity in the finish. Dry and drinkable. 21st’s website says that this is a blonde ale, if it were mine, I’d label it a Kolsch.
