Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark ruddy copper with a 3+ finger creamy near-beige head. Warm, roasty, hoppy aroma. Full bodied. Tastes like a red with a lot of floral and citrus hop. Fun little hit of light pitted fruit in the end. Extremely tasty.

Draft. Poured dark redddish brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate earthy & sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium dark sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations were met.

A reddish amber ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a caramel rye malt with floral hops, resinous, nice. In mouth, a nice caramel with resinous floral hops, vinous notes, alcohol warmth. On tap at Snallygaster DC, Oct. 13 2012.

Tap. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy light tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malt, fragrant floral, citrus and pine hops with fruity esters. Flavor is medium hops and bitterness, supporting malt and fruity esters with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Tap at Vienna WF. Pours clear amber. Medium off white foam. Weaker retention. Big lace. Nose is medicinal cherry, tea leaves. Taste is sticky sweet, very medicinal, some white alcohol and mixed drink sweet tea vodka. Boozy. Palate moderately papery, dry. Some really salty and intense black olive and brine up front in the taste. Bracing bitterness.

Pours a translucent ruby amber with a large foamy off white head that laced. Aroma of tea, pine, caramel, toffee and light citrus. Flavor of pine, grapefruit and lots of sweet malty notes.

Draft at pony. Pours a deep amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is nothing. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet fruity malts, hops and spice. Same in flavor. Ehhh.

Sampled on draft at D’s Monroeville this beer poured a red-amber color with a large fluffy tan head that left good lacing. The aroma had a strong boozy bite wtih candied dark fruits and caramel following. The flavor was bitter and rough with a strong boozy presence and intense candied fruits, caramel, fig and more booze following that up. Long boozy caramel and candied fruit finish. Moderately full bodied. Ok.
