Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA May 26, 2007 On tap at the 2007 Parkville Microbrew Festival. Pours a dark brown color with mahogany highlights. Has a dense, large, thick beige head with good lacing. The aroma is like unattenuated malt in the hydrometer. Sugary sweet and almost bock-like in some ways. It’s like this is not fully fermented. Some toasted malt flavors are here like a burned marshmellow at the campsite. I am strangely attracted to this.
tomciccateri (467), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Aug 18, 2008 Draught at the Parkville festival. Pours a dense brown color with a thick tan head. Medium-bodied with a big malty flavor, slightly sweet flavor balance. tjthresh (1321), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Apr 29, 2007 Sample at the Parkville Microbrewers Festival. Tawny color with a light tan head. Not much to speak of in the aroma, but the flavor is chocolaty and ripe with rye flavor. Fairly rich on the palate. Nice beer.
