On tap @ 23rd Street. Deep black appearance with a dark creamy brown head. Dark malty, roasty nose. Flavor is a creamy, dark roasted malty flavor. Not too bad.

Shaker @ brewpub. Black pour with a nitro-like brown head, sticks around for a while. Aroma is wonderfully roast coffee (there is no coffee in this as far as I know). This melds beautifully with a bit of prune and tobacco. Taste plays perfectly for the style, light, just lightly watery but not badly enough. Not as roasted but more prune and other watery dark malts. A bit of a cigarette fume as well. It is easy drinking as it is supposed to be.

22 IBU. 5.3% ABV. Pours a thin mocha head over a dark blackish brown (SRM 20) body.....Nose of roasted malts with coffee, chocolate, dominating.....taste is malty with light coffee, chocolate coming in with a mild bitter finish....mouth feel is light. This meets the style of a dry stout very well.
