3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 unclemike (1486) - Ft. Riley, USA - SEP 29, 2010
Nice, but not as strongly flavored as I like a wheat beer to be. Thin light head that didn’t last long, fairly carbonated, light aroma of wheat, citrus, and yeast. Tastes of wheat and bananas, with a bit of hops and citrus. Not bad at all, but I’d like more what and hops bitterness

On tap at the brewpub in August 2009.
Pours a bright clear golden color with a white head and a touch of lacing as it comes down. Smell is pretty much straight grain with a touch of sweetness. No real fruit esters or anything else of the sort. Taste is quite similar. Just a dry, semi-sweet graininess. Nothing terribly offensive and nothing off-putting, but not much to say about it. Mouthfeel is light with good carbonation. Goes down smoothly, but there’s no real reason to go for the next sip.

Draft, so the historical background to the name Wave the Wheat refers to the Wave that is done when the Kansas J-hawks score points in a football game. Plenty of wheat beers on this trip on that note. Pours an orange body with an off white head. Wheat coriander, grain and some lemon grass. A light ginger note. Decent.
