3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap @ a corner pub in Brno.
Pours deep mahogany with a small, creamy, beige head. Fine lacing and okay duration - nice looking beer. Aroma is sweet, very lightly roasted, light chocolate. Fine mouthfeel, surprisingly dry. Flavour is nowhere near as sweet as the aroma (which is a very good thing). Quite ashy, hard roasted with a fine, sweet chocolate finish. Very nice and very drinkable.

Sehr röstiger Malzantrunk, leicht süß. Im Mittelteil macht sich der Hopfen bemerkbar, der Einfluss der Röstigkeit ist klar erkennbar. Würzig-malzig werdend, vollmundig. Guter Einsatz des Malzes!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle (Pivni Galerie Praha) Deep ruby amber coloured, sweet-malt, caramel and a touch of molasses in the nose, even a tinge of floral hops is detectable; robust bitter-seet flavour; drier, deceptive malty-bitter, almost chocolatey finish, even some hoppines in the aftertaste. A well rounded, very well balanced pleasant pivo.............

Sweet and slightly dusty aroma with roasted malt and caramel, a touch of cacao and herbal hops. Mild bitter flavour, light bodied with a soft to medium carbonation. Roast-malty taste with caramel/toffee and cacao; moderately dry finish with a burnt malty and light herbal hoppy bitterness. A bit light bodied but well-rounded Tmave.

draft. sweet porter-like roast in the nose with mild calcium and vitamin yeast. medium-light body, rough and minerallic, pasty and dry... in that dried-flaky-chalk-pieces way. lightly sour and tart late.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dirty-beige head, slowly collapsing over clear but dark-chestnut beer. Nose is sweet-chocolate & liquorice; further undergrowth, dark leaves, brown bread and rainwater. Rather dry, woody and again leafy flavours, with an undercurrent of sweet bread-and-chocolate. Rather good balance, as there is also a touch of acidity. Warming up, just a tad too much caramelly sweetness welling up. Very present carbonation, spritzy. Medium bodied at best, creamy head thanks to its stability. More dry than bitterish. Surprisingly good tmavý, certainly seen the deplorably poor polotmavý. Thanks, Peter!
