Non-typical beers will receive personalized descriptions after the express ratings. -------- />
How: Bottle at Kralovstvi, Prague
The look: Clear dark ruby body with a short-lived beige head
To me a typical Czech Polotmavé (Czech Amber Lagers) is: Hay and biscuit wrapped in caramel. Very light fruity notes with no specific fruits giving the impression of slightly fruity caramel. Moderately sweet. Sweetness is well balanced by dry grassy hops. Body is smooth. Medium carbonation.
This one: As above but a bit dryer and less overall less tasty than average. An overall feeling of lack of freshness although I’m sure all Cerná Hora bottles at Kralovstvi are fresh.

Good and well rounded.......... Quack-Duck (3189), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 29, 2005 Bottled. Clear amber colour. Quite lasting, medium-sized, lacey head.
Somewhat weak cookie malt aroma. Didn´t taste stale, rather fresh, but it is a bit one-dimensional. Slightly sweet and malty. A bit reminiscient of a cheap altbier, but still drinkable. motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic
