Origin of name: the name is taken from the name of the star Kvasar. The inventor of this beer was Mr. Jiří Jelínek, who began brewing beer at home in his brewery in Sentice not far from Tišnov. Taste: this beer is characterized by its good head, golden yellow to golden brown color, and good vigor and fullness, which incite further drinking and corresponds to the characteristics of semi-fermented Czech beers. It is distinguished by its slightly sweet character due to its well-balanced bitterness and subtle honey flavor.

Černá Hora Kvasar S Medem 14° :: Off white head, clear golden body. Leafy hops, gazzy malts, mildness to the nose. Mild taste, sweet mild caramel, grass, modest hops, brown bread, fermented fruit in syrup - leading to a fruity malty finish. On palate ok. Nice brew. Keg at Obycejny Svet, Prague. A clear deep golden colour with a foamy white head. Aroma of cereal, straw, some honey and spicy, herbal hops. Taste is similar of cereal, straw, some caramel, slight honey and spicy, herbal hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A dryish, herbal hop bitterness in the finish. A very spicy, herbally beer balanced well enough with the malts and slight honey to be drinkable. It’s ok.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear deep golden, big head. Sweet malts, baked fruit, some caramelized sugar - yep, this a sweeter kind of svetly! A touch of hops? A bit cidery too. The taste is similar, starts rather sweet, a mild spicy bitterness follows, a touch of alcohol. Smooth low carb body. Not bad.

Clear, golden. There’s a fair amount of honey in the aroma but less in the flavour. Bitter, Pils-esque finish.
