Origin of name: the name is taken from the name of the star Kvasar. The inventor of this beer was Mr. Jiří Jelínek, who began brewing beer at home in his brewery in Sentice not far from Tišnov. Taste: this beer is characterized by its good head, golden yellow to golden brown color, and good vigor and fullness, which incite further drinking and corresponds to the characteristics of semi-fermented Czech beers. It is distinguished by its slightly sweet character due to its well-balanced bitterness and subtle honey flavor.

Golden colored, medium sized yellow head. Lively carbonation. Strongly sweet, fruity, mildly hopped aroma. Medium bodied. Flavor is way too sweet with sugar, honey and some tangy lemon, aftertaste is sour and dry with esters and perfumy tones. Hard to finish.

Draft at ’Only Good Beer’ in Budapest. Rich dark gold with firm head. Good, solid lager finish, hop bittering. Sweet and tangy up front. Crisp, but also sweet and tasty. Malty tart backbone.

Golden orange body with poor head. Slight sweet aroma, grainy and cardboard. Taste is pretty much the same, pretty boring really, sort of notice the honey notes as promoted.

Golden amber colored pour. Medium-sized white head, peaky. Little bit of lacing as it drops. Spicy aroma of coriander, malt. Taste is pretty much the same with a slight sourness to it. It’s okay.

Bottle. Compared with Polish honey beers, this one comes across rather elegant. You can feel that this is still a pils, albeit with some honey notes and small amount of sweetness added. The problem is, the honey seems to have tamed this beer and made it rather bland. At least the frothy, big head fails to disappoint.

0,5 l bottle, bought at Pivni Galerie, Prague.
Poured clear golden with a fine, creamy and very stable, foamy white head. Aroma is caramel and malt, sourish yeast and some grassy-herbal hop, some honey and vanilla. Medium body and smooth mouthfeel, fine sweet malt based flavor with honey and vanilla. Spicy hop bit on the palate, some freaky almond in the aftertaste.

Goldgelb mit ordentlicher Krone. Liebliches Malzaroma. Auch im Geschmack malzbetont nach Blütenhonig. Klingt angenehm herb aus. Guter Durchschnitt.

Smells malty sweet, some aroma hops come through. Starts with lots of hops, some sweet malt aromas, also some hints of honey. Low carbonated. It tastes very sweet, honey really comes through a little. The aftertaste is slightly bitter, but very fine and not too pushy.

Pours a fairly clear golden color, topped with a white frothy head. Sweet malty aroma, nice gentle honey aroma also present. Taste is sweet, not too sweet, with honey notes. Slightly metallic in the aftertaste, but still pretty nice.

Golden colour. Somewhat sweet and honey flavoured. Aroma of honey is there too. Above average lager.
