COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The basis of the blueberry beer is the light lager Páter, to which is added blueberry extract just before bottling, which is made by macerating real dried blueberries in alcohol solution. One hectoliter of beer needs 120 grams of dried blueberry extract. This flavored lager has a slightly bluish color and a subtle blueberry fragrance. The beer has excellently well-balanced taste characteristics and the blueberry taste will definitely not find ghastly. It provides you with a beer taste in a completely different dimension and thanks to the bottled version you can taste it at home.

Bottled 500ml. -Slight hazy amber coloured, medium sized off-white head that went away fast, sweet syrupy blueberry nose. Moderate sweet malty, dry blueberry and slight hoppy with bitter blueberry finish. Also too bitter and not so pleasant aftertaste.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Rotem’s place. Thanks Tom. Clear amber color with a bubbly white head. Sweetish aroma of artificial blueberries. Pretty watery flavor with a bit of berry hints and weird bitterness. Light-medium-bodied.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Rotem’s place. Thanks Tom. Pours clear dark amber with a white head. Strong artificial fruit juice aroma and also medical syrup, aimed for children. Tastes like carbonated fruit syrup. Light body, thick texture, short finish.

on tap at remeslnicka beseda in pilsen. somewhere between amber and purple with a thin but lasting head; the colour perhaps suggested grape juice to me which is the aroma i percieved; thin with grape sugar and rye; quick and dry finish making it quite bearable

0.5 L bottle bought @Pivoňka, Hradec Králové. Pours a clear pale reddish- amber. Low blond top. Smell of perfumed fruits. Difficult to tell if its blueberry, smells fresh fruity though. Profound fruity flavores of red berries (blue?). Restrained, light sweet malt body. Mild on the palate. Light in body, due to the low carbonation level. What to say; A decent lightweighter with a fruit issue.

draft. amber ruby body. medicinal berry flavor and nail polish nose. chewy and frothy body but it’s entirely a fake berry candy flavor and it’s a bit sour and tart as well. ugh.

Another beer I had on tap at Zlý Časy in Prague. This beer had a clear but hazy red-orange color with a good-sized creamy/foamy white head with slight cling and average retention. The aroma had a strong blueberry effect, with lighter hints of cherry and a touch of plum and caramel. It tasted very sweet and fruity, with the presence of blueberry, a bit of cherry, and a sour, harsher dark fruit aftertaste. The beer was smooth with below-average density and low carbonation with a dry finish.

(Draught at Zly Casy, Prague, 29 July 2011) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with blueberries, toast, almonds and hints of cherries. Malty, fruity taste with notes of toast, blueberries, almonds, orange peel and a mild bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Interesting. It took me some while to realise that the strange taste actually was blueberries. Quite nice.

Countbeer (1927) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - SEP 12, 2011
Draught: Small white head on top of a clear pink beer. Smell blue berry’s (like soft drink/soda). Taste is like candy sweet soft drink/soda, don’t taste hops, don’t taste malts, etc. Just a light bitterness. Sweet (candy soft drink/soda blue berry) aftertaste. Low carbo, medium body, soft mouthfeel and a watery texture. This did not taste like beer, just a blue berry soft drink, hence the low score.

Bottle at GBF. Hazy amber colour with a white head. Like blueberry soup mixed with a sweet pale lager.
