Interesting one, because the beer is a positive one, against the low alcohol...So, in my opinion the secret is in the relatively "high" percentage of extract....Not in the design of the 0,5 l can, it is terrible with the neongreen and mallow colors. The beer has a clear, pale golden body with a small white and froathy head what disappears quickly. Moderated aroma of malt and floral hop, but still balanced. Medium but smooth mouthfeel with some sweet malt, floral, weak but balanced hop. I was pleasantly surprised again after some weak beers. Drinkable, consumable beer for a party...

A sweet and floral pilsner with a long caramel malt finish. Extremely drinkable and delicious. It is a little powdery on the tongue but I think this is pretty special.

Bottle. High creamy and lasting white head. Clear amber to brown body. Sweet fruity aroma. Very sweet malt caramel fruity flavor with a little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a short aftertaste. Too anonymous.

500 ml bottle. From Latvia. Pale golden colour with vanishing snow white head. Caramel/toffee buttery aroma. Flavour is sweet, honey-like, buttery, malty. And somehow a bit smoky finishing. Quite nice, worth of another round.

Bottle, bought @ a pub in Brno.
Pours golden with a light amber teint, a fine, creamy, white head. Fine duration. Quite crisp malty aroma, a slight touch of butter and honey and some fair grassy hops. Medium carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is malty, some slight metallic. o real butter, but a fine grassy bitter finish.

On tap in Prague. Soft malt, honey-like sweetness, hoppy bitterness in the finish. A bit too sweet, perhaps, but well worth trying out.

Back from a Czech Republic pub-crawl this is part of my express ratings for the “typical” Světlý 11°- (Czech light Pils), Světlý 12°+ (Czech Pils), Polotmavý (Czech Amber Lagers) and Tmavý (Czech Black Lagers). Non-typical beers will receive personalized descriptions after the express ratings.
-------- /> How: Bottle at Kralovstvi, Prague
The look: Clear blonde body with a short-lived white head
To me a typical Czech Světlý 11° and below is: Well malted body with lots of smooth cereals and a light fresh honey sweetness flavour. Some fruity notes (more fruity notes than in the 12°+) with mostly citrus fruits and a little lemon. The finish is somewhat herbal and citrusy with but unlike the 12°+ there is only a hint of the dry grassy bitterness usually associated with noble/Saaz hops. Bitterness is mild and does not really play a big role in the overall flavours spectrum. A light meringue sensation and an overall freshness impression.. Carbonation is typically very soft. These beers are low in intensity but very refreshing and drinkable in scarily large quantities.
This one: As above but more of an honeyed hay flavour and not enough herbal hops. Below average.
