Fairly basic black lager, fresh from New Jersey. Beery aroma, foamy on black. Lighter mouthfeel. Passable drinkability.

Nice looking dark amber with a thin head. The aroma has a little more malt than most lagers. The flavor has some caramel and is well balanced.

Bottle. Black with a big off white head. Aroma is roast malt and toast. Taste adds light caramel note and old coffee bitterness. Light mouthfeel with strong carb. Ok.

Sampled at Big Brew Beer Festival (Morristown). Poured a clear amber color with a foamy off white head. Aroma of mainly caramel and roasted malts. Taste is much the same with caramel and roasted malts up front, and some toffee notes in the finish.

Nutty, smokey toast aroma. Cloudy brown color, huge persistent head that maintain structure in a way where it actually slants towards the side of the initial pour for several minutes. Very cool. Burnt oaty flavor, a muted sweetness. Smooth body, crisp and dry. Good heavier schwarz.

22oz bottle. Pours a very dark amber with an off white head. Sweet caramel aroma followed by sweet caramel taste. Nothing else. It’s OK but not much going on here.

22 oz. bottle @ Julio’s Liquors. Lager glass shows Dark brown or mahogany with thin beige head with decent retention. Nose is lager yeast, get no roasted notes. Flavor is real mild. Light chocolate malt, lager yeast and the weakest hint of roasted malt. Overall this brew drinks easy. Mainly because this doesn’t have much going on. Note: I really like this style beer, so this is a big disappointment for me.
