Draft @ Pizza Gourmet 1969: Became and instant fan of 3 Cordilleras, brewing to style, very drifferent from othe craftbewers that stick to safer light bodied ales. By far the best craftbrewery I’ve run into in Colombia (in Latinamerica). Foods Paring: Pizza Pollo BBQ.

Amber-reddish colour with a good bone colour head
Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, yeast and some fresh hops.
Taste is nice. Sweet caramel malts well balanced with herbal hops.
Medium body, right carbonation, good aftertaste.

Caramel colour, transparent, weak head, nice carbonation, bubbles.
Caramel smell, malty with hints of honey.
Watery taste with subtle bitterness. Smooth fizziness, refreshing, with a subtle bitter finish.

(330ml bottle) Pours a clear orange body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, orange, and somewhat wet/humid grain. Flavor of caramel, orange, and toffee.

In glass It shows a dark orange color with a cloudy appereance, and a tan foam head. The aroma reveals some caramel, cereal, nuts, floral, earthy and leather notes. The taste has a light sweetness, medium bitterness and medium sourness with a medium body and a bitter ending created by an inadequate amount of hops. Not the worst of 3 cordilleras.

Pours clear amber with great head and lacing. Not quite a mullatta in colour, but whatever. Light sour finish. Some hops and mash malt in nose. Soft carbonation. On tap at Medellin Beer Factory in Parque Lleras.

A malty almost grassy aroma, looks okay. This is a pretty passable amber, some definite malts but is certainly different enough from all the pale lagers everywhere in Colombia to warrant a positive mention. A smooth finish.

First microbrew i tasted in Colombia. That’s good news for a market dominated by industrial lagers.
Its a good ale. Not too different from Mestiza. Served on tap on bars and restaurants.
Feels consistent, nice color, poor foam (probably a problem of the bartender).
Tasted on La Rotonda and Hato Viejo.

An amber ale with a thick off white head, frothy and creamy. Surprise in aroma, light piney hops over a nice biscuitty malt. In mouth, a nice light ale with light English hops, nice roasted notes, a bit lighter than expected but very quaffable. On tap at Pub Escocia,Medellin, July 8 2009.

An OK amber ale--though a nice change from the lagers that dominate Colombia. Moderate amounts of malt, but a little too light on the hops. Hopefully the microbrew scene will catch on in Colombia--this is a decent start.
