COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Armand’4 Herfst Oude Geuze is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic, brewed, aged, blended and bottled by Armand Debelder. This one-time and possibly the last bottling comes in a fancy Asti Spumante Champagne bottle. Armand only used Challenger hops in this brew. He’s in fact the only lambic-brewer to use Challenger hops to make his Geuze. 60 % malted barley, 40 % wheat, aged hops and water. Each season’s geuze has an unique and different blend.

Bottle share at Craft Clerkenwell, thanks to Tom! 2010 vintage. Cloudy orange, very small white head. Aroma is strong lemon and peach - potent. Body is medium, tingly carbonation, smooth. Not the over-carb I’m used to in the style. Taste is smooth lemon, earthy and twiggy, very dry. Very good, flavoursome stuff.

Bottle at Toms 10 yr anniversary. Lovely complex lambic aroma. Touch of woody age. Proper funk. Very good. Zesty funk. Good blend.

2015-03-04. Hazy amber body with a nice creamy head. 3++ Aroma is lightly funky and pleasantly fruity. Light straw and barnyard grows as you delve further into it. 7++ Flavour is interesting, pleasantly sour throughout but it is pleasantly rounded and not overly aggressive. Modesty earthy barnyard accents. Moderate fruit character throughout. Smooth average bodied palate, soft effervescent carbonation. More nuanced than my notes reflect, it was surprisingly subtle, shockingly quaffable, and pleasantly refreshingly sour. Too busy enjoying and not enough note taking! Bottle shared by Travlr.

Wonderful and very well rounded. Grapefruit tangy bretta here. Pours orange with good head and lacing. Wonderful package. Nice rind. Tangy finish with some crackery crispness. Big thanks to Travlr for breaking this one out of the cellar.

Golden orange pour. Substantial barnyard aroma of lighter funk, some sweet notes. Tart flavor but no overly so. Barnyard funkiness , some citrus find and zest. Complex and almost a champagnelike breadish taste. On my tp 3 ever

I figure a random Wednesday while watching Property zbrothers is the perfect time for a brew like this, no? Found this bottle on a shelf while in Paris. Poured 1/28/2015. Dated 2/4/2010, so almost exactly 5 years old. Poured to a Cantillon taster glass and shared with no one because eff it. Pours mostly clear with just a hint of hazyness, beautiful copper golden with a big fluffy white head. Dusty oaky aroma, sweet Belgian sugar notes, funky sourness, some vinegar. Yep, smells like goooooooze. Flavor is sweet malty caramel and major sour funk. Wow, the sweetness here is heavier than others in the style I’ve had but balances just perfectly with the funky, dry, oaky, vinegary sourness. Some grass in here, not super dry and dusty, even some juicy fruitiness going on. Some apricot notes, lingering sweetness and dry on the tongue. Mouthfeel is juicier than most in the style with a dry oaky finish and medium plus carbonation. Very easy drinking but packed with flavor and not lacking in any respect. One of the most flavorful Gueuzes in a style that is sometimes tough to differentiate. This one separates itself from the pack with a beautiful balance between sweet and sour. Nicely done.

Golden with white head. Aroma is amazing! Perfume and the best of brett together. Funk, citrus, lavender, spice, earth, plums and white grapes. Very fruity and highly carbonated palate. Aftertaste is fruity, citrus, white grapes, some tartness, dry and some noble hop dry finish. Overall: amazed!!! Perfect!
