4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 kbutler1 (1275) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 26, 2011
Bottle. One of the sexiest bottles I have seen in a long time. Poured into a DFH tulip glass a clear light copper color with a fluffy 1 finger head. Very tight, straight aroma. Funky, wheaty, grass, and just something I can’t put my finger on. Light mouthfeel with nice carbonation. Dry and zesty. Apricot, wine, white grape, minimal bitterness, and some florals. There so much going on in this it is really hard to explain what all is going on. Big, sticky lace left on the glass. Just fantastic. Very tough to beat.

Bottle shared at August tasting for bleengs 1000th rating. Pours a cloudy orange with medium creamy off white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is floral hop and sour fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a light dry fruit and lingering sour finish. Very impressive lambic from 3 Fonteinen.

Bottle-rating #1000. Pours hazy bright yellow. Nose is musty, sprightly, horseblanket. Taste is very earthy, tart but not excessively, lemony, goes down easy. Complex and delicious.

(750ml bottle at Dak’s 5000 tasting). Pours a cloudy apricot color with off-white head and active carbonation. Aroma is musty, with fruit, funk and wood notes. Taste is sweet with fruit and vinegar sourness. Medium bodied with a dry finish. A great beer that is easy to drink and quite refreshing.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2012 Thanks to quite a few friendly faces who have shared this by now. Each time has been an incredible experience. Thanks to Avalon68, recently tried this side-by-side with J&J Blauw. Armand’4 has a beautiful sparkling appearance with a good white head. Incredible funk in the nose for the young age plus fantastic notes of citrus and light pepper. Brett character is strong. Slight lacticness. Full and rich flavor. Side-by-side, this has much more character than the Blauw, though it’s not quite as smooth. One of the best gueuzes I have ever come across. Can’t wait to see how this one ages.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2011 Bottle from beer planet in Brussels, very interesting beer. Different then the othe gueze I have had. This one had a really strong funk in the smell. Strong sourness. Overall very enjoyable.

Bottle shared at Dak’s tasting. 24 karat pour with a nice 1/4 inch head that melds into just a whispy white cloud. Aroma of grape, lemonpeel, grass, earth and funk. Pretty assertive aroma, more so than the flavor. Flavor is light and refreshing. Great for a hot AZ day...a little jaw locking power with tart Jolly Rancher, citrus pith, lemon drops, maybe a little peach/tangerine and barnyard. Pretty dry and a little dusty. Really tasty!
