Bottle (750 ml) @ an Armand’4 tasting. Huge thanks to David for sharing this gem! Hazy golden/orange with a nice small white head and beautiful lacing. Aroma is agressive and really complex with tons of tropical fruits, typical 3 Fonteinen funky notes, barnyard, peppery and lemony notes. Taste is really fruity too (mostly peaches and apricots), barnyard, good tartness and sour presence with some peppery notes here too. Fizzy carbonation. It leaves the mouth dry. This Gueuze is awesome, my favorite of the Armand’4. Incredible balance and freshness, wonderful complexity and nice drinkability. A true masterpiece from the master himsel!

Bottles (all 4!) shared by Tommy and David, thanks! This one is glowing golden, with only the slightest haze. The big white head on top of it make it a really sexy drink. Upfront the aroma is a big brett bomb, with the usual aromas of lambics (horseblanket and everything). In fact, this is the most aggressive of the seasons according to all the people that were present. Acidity level is medium, quite a classy drink really. Flavors are of apricots and various sour-ish juicy fruits. Great one!

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2013 Blind tasting of all 4 seasons from Armand. Shared with Mathieu87. For me, this was the best of the 4, though all 4 are absolutely fabulous geuzes! Appearance: nice head, geuze. Nose: very fruity, some wood, nice and complex nose, which makes this an exceptionable beer. Taste: nice sour opening, fruity finish. Very carbonated. AMAZING

Reviewed from notes. Sampled all 4 Armand’4 side by side at a tasting back in early 2012. Lente pours a cloudy amber orange in color with a large, frothy, off-white head. The beer has excellent head retention and lacing. Nose is comprised of classic 3F funk, must, barnyard, lemon, horse blanket, and earth. The flavor of Lente is what really set it apart from the rest of the Armand’4 originally. It is full of bright, citric lemon like the Zomer, but it also has the layers of funk. Truth be told, it might be the funkiest of the 4. The mouthfeel is light, with moderate acidity, lively carbonation, and a long finish. At the time, this proved to me by favorite bottle of the bunch. I’d be interested to see how it’s developing in comparison to the others now. I’m guessing that some may have rounded out more nicely than this one, then again I have had the others since and haven’t had a drop of Lente.

Very hazy orange yellow pour with a thin white. Great funky aroma. Lots of tree bark and oak and grass. Flavor is tart and dry. Very lemony and citrusy with a good amount of wood. Light oaky finish.

750ml bottle pours a hazy, dark orange with some clumpy white head. Nose is bright, grapefruit rind, lemons, dandelion greens, band aids, medicine cabinet, funk, vitamin C tablets. Flavor is tart, grassy, grapefruit, blood orange, lemon-lime soda, kaffir lime leaves, light curry. Medium bodied, tart finish. Very nice.

Bottled sample shared with oakbluff. Cloudy gold in colour with strong spritzy carbonation. Aromas are of Meyer lemon, line peel, funk, a bit of fresh cheese, and matchsticks. Flavors are of juicy lemon, minerals, wood, funk, and floral honey (although not sweet). Substantial on the palate, with the right balance of sour and tart. One of the best gueuzes I’ve tried.
