bottle at RBESG 2011 ... hazy amber ... soft sweet funky fruit ... lightest barnyard sour tinge in back of nose ... surprisingly unsour in nose ... big sour front ... soft fruits ... tart soft sourness... well it seems more balanced and was one of the better sour i had on the day... but i sstill dont like it :-)

Well it looks like muddy mess w no carbo or head. The aroma starts w leather and light horseblanket. Not much tartness jumping out of the glass, actually. Tart, dry and grassy, this is a bit springlike...must be a touch of pedio or something. Clean, fruity finish w moderate tartness. Maybe light pears? Good brew, the balance is on the refreshing side of the style.

Bottle @ RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at Dean Swift. Hazy gold orange colour with lasting beige head. Aroma is pretty stunning. Leafy funk. Could smell this all day. Biscuit in mouth. Quite complex in mouth. Good sourness on end. It’s pretty good, but I think I preferred the Tilquin before it. It’s pretty good though.

Bottle, at RBNAG-11. An unclear, golden-orange beer topped by a small, off-white head. Funky, fluor-like nose with barnyard and earthyness. Quite lemony flavor with funkyness, fluor-like hints and barnyard and earth. Lasting funky barnyard finish. Full-bodied and tart, really pleasant on the palate. Although a bit too sourish, it’s a really pleasant beer. Probably the best of the three first Armand’4 beers. 111015

Hazy orange color, small steady white head. Intensive aroma: it’s tart, then grapes, leather, fruits. Medium-bodied. Delicated tart flavor with grapes, leather, citrus ...Lingering fruity tartness in the aftertaste. World class lambic,

Scopeys East Croydon tasting. Big thanks to Paul for bagging this one and sharing it! Hazy amber beer, tidy white head. Mildly sour nose. Crisp dry palate. Mild woody and mild fruity sourness - trace of vinegar. Trace of white wine. Dry finish. Ok - there was much serious nodding of heads going on for this one from people I respect and who know beer, whereas yours truly was mostly scratching his. I mean I like this beer and I would happily have it again but I’m not getting this upper 4 wow factor at all. If I live to be a 100 - I may never fully understand this style!

Bottle, bought @ Beer Planet, Brussels.
Hazy orange pour, small, staying, creamy, off-white film head. Amazing floral araoma, poppies, roses, tulips, oranges, funk, brett, light leather, oak and pepper. Low carbonation, lovely dry and light creamy palate. Flavour is extremely elegant as well. Sour, citric, funky, oranges, still some floral notes, pepper, dryness, barnyard, very low in lactic acid, a touch of ginger. Super amazing balance and subtleness.
