UPDATED: SEP 13, 2012 2 finger solid white head. Fades fast with very nice lacing. Soft bubbles sticks around. Gorgeous dark orange gold appearance. Cloudy. Smells fantastic. Very up front horsey smell. With solid funk and overall gueuziness that is close to as great as I’ve tasted. A lot of these lately do they’re all blending together. Taste is wonderful. It’s very funky. Horsey and floral. Bits of honey and outwardly must taste 80% carbonation. Light body. Very intense tart finish.

Bottle shared by GT2 for my 6,000th rating. Pours hazy orange with a small, bubbly white head, medium-short retention with light lacing. Aroma is funky and barnyard yeast, black walnut, sour grapes, fruity esters, hay and straw malt with spicy hops. Flavor is sour and tart grapes, fruity esters, black walnuts, light malt, barnyard and earthy with a vinous character and a dry finish. Light body and warmth, high carbonation.

750ml bottle. Phone rate. Brilliant hazy orange color with shimmering white bubbles. Salty tart lemons and light cheese with some grapefruit rind notes; sour, mouthwatering. Lively, crisp carbonation; sour lemon, salty, and moderate acidity; perfect presence in the mouth; doesn’t show the viscosity of the zomer. Magnificent. Long, tart dry finish.

Bottle 750ml. @ RBESG 11 Grand Tasting at Dean Swift, 10 Gainsford Street, London, England SE1 2NE.

[ As my rating # 22000 on ratebeer ]. Unclear medium orange colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy yeasty, barnyard, grapefruit, citrus, tart, sulfur notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and light acidic with a long duration, funky, dry. Very nice and very good balanced ;O) Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft and fizzy. [20110807]

750ml bottle split three ways. Looks like your standard 3F gueuze, maybe a little lighter, yellowish. Smell is very oude, citrus, musty. Flavor is quite delicious, extremely well balanced fruits, only mildly sour, hints of funk. This was easily my favorite of all the Armand ’4 gueuzes and the best Drie Fonteinen gueuze I’ve ever tasted. It might be the best gueuze I’ve ever tasted from any brewer/blender. Thanks to Craig for this amazing Belgian tick. Hazy orangish golden color with a well formed whitish head that lasts. Huge funky nose on this beer, as Arne and Mike said, "forest floor" which is right on. Absolutely phenomenal with mushroom and barnyard funk. The flavor is great too; funky and tasty with just the right amount of sweet malt and phenomenal tart and funky flavor. This is incredible. The mouthfeel kills too, medium acidity and a perfect carbonation level. Just a ridiculous beer, really one of the best I’ve had in this style.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2011 Pours a golden/light amber with a nice white head. Slighly hazy. Aroma is nice and complex: wet wood, strong funkyness with fruitiness and some spiciness. Nice acidic notes, recalling the classic cheesey and horseblankety notes. Taste is rich and probably as complex as it gets, every sip is a different note, stunning. Strong funkyness again and tartness sorrounded by a sort of yogurt-like sweetness. Huge citrus and lemon peel notes. Grassy notes in the background. Some wood and fruit too. Mostly dry finish. Palate is creamy, silky, with good carbonation. Overall, this is probably the best blend I tasted so far. I should do a side by side to award the "best gueuze" award, but this is sublime anyway. So easy to drink, I’m glad I had a whole bottle for myself.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house, courtesy of skycracksopen. Very generous, thank you! Very cloudy, golden orange appearance with a well carbonated, off white head. Delicious funky, lemon citrusy, cheesy, vanilla, dusty, herbal aroma. Really fantastic aroma. A touch chewy, lemon citrusy, tangy tart yeasty, very nice yeasty, refreshing, funky, barnyard flavor. Not overly sour. Refreshing and fucking delicious stuff!

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, big cheesy and dusty basement, lemon and lactic notes, touch of nice grass, lemongrass, touch of funky barnyard as well, dirty gym socks and vanilla. Taste is huge funk notes, touch of biscuit and bready notes, hints of vanilla, lemon, hints of nice dusty basement, nice lactic notes but really balanced with the funk, finishing fairly sour but super well balanced. Delicious and excellently made.

Thanks to thireye11 for this one. Has an amazing sour funky smell with a thin head to it. It’s a perfect tart, sour and funky taste going on. Just fucking amazing.
