COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Armand’4 Winter Oude Geuze is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic, brewed, aged, blended and bottled by Armand Debelder. This one-time and possibly the last bottling comes in a fancy Asti Spumante Champagne bottle. Armand only used Challenger hops in this brew. He’s in fact the only lambic-brewer to use Challenger hops to make his Geuze. 60 % malted barley, 40 % wheat, aged hops and water. Each season’s geuze has an unique and different blend.

Bottle 750ml @ Geokkjer
Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, barnyard, funk, horse blanket and citrus. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium sour with a long sour, slightly dry and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft to fizzy.

750ml botle from IPB. Side by side tasting of the four seasons. Pale amber, quite a lot of lacing and long lasting head. Nose nicely citrusy and sour. Palate is the most effervescent of them all. Pretty similar taste to the other 3. Nicely citrusy and sour. Quite drinkable and refreshing. Some herbal hops.

My Bottom Line:
Earthy wilderness and its piney edges lead to a citric, acidic finish in this complex, yeast-laden Oude Gueuze.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam sits atop the cloudy amber.
-Carbonation is very intense throughout, helping in toning down the intensity of the brew.
-Sourness is high, but not nearly as intense as some Cantillons or Hanssens gueuzes.
-Obviously, this is very dry as well.
-To me, this one seemed more sour than the Herfst and Lente, and perhaps more citrusy/fruity as well.

Bottle.

Bottle. Hazy amber liquid with medium to big white head. Aroma of earth, barnyard, red berries, wood, apple skin and lemon. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of earth, barnyard, light bread and apple skin. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Really nice, bit maltier.

750 ml. bottle that had developed a small leak. Was still a gusher. Poured a cloudy golden orange with a huge white head. Aroma of citrus, barnyard, and wood. Taste is lemon, grapefruit, apples, funk, malt, wood, and barnyard. Was a mild taste of vinegar. All things considered (leak) it was excellent.
