COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Armand’4 Winter Oude Geuze is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic, brewed, aged, blended and bottled by Armand Debelder. This one-time and possibly the last bottling comes in a fancy Asti Spumante Champagne bottle. Armand only used Challenger hops in this brew. He’s in fact the only lambic-brewer to use Challenger hops to make his Geuze. 60 % malted barley, 40 % wheat, aged hops and water. Each season’s geuze has an unique and different blend.

Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy orange color with a white head. Lemon, oaky, apricot, and a slight metallic note. Medium mouthfeel with nice carbonation. Fruity upfront, sour with a lingering "raw" bitterness to it. Nice tartness.

Bruingeel bier. Ruikt zuur als champagne. Smaakt extreem zuur. Als zure champagne.

Pours a golden beer with a good white head. Smells lovely sour. The taste is absolutely beast. Great sour.

Bottle at RBESG ’13 Grand Tasting. Pours hazy light orange with a medium white head. Very nice and strong geuze aroma, bit sweet, barn, funk and some caramel. Taste is really nicely balanced between sweet and sour with barn, some green apples and fruitiness. Nicely balanced and very full in both aroma and taste.

Bottle shared at the RateBeer Gallery event in SF. Pours orange with a light khaki head. Lovely aroma of meyer lemons, perfumey citrus, limes, chlorine, brett. Lemon and nectarine notes in flavor, sour stone fruit pits, absolutely divine all around.

Bottled @ RBESG 2013 Grand Tasting. Typical gueuze aroma’s of horseblanket and barnyard, but with some extra caramelly and spicy notes to it. Great tartness, some fruit, bit apple. Full, complex. Wonderful brew.

75cl Bottle at RBESG’13 Grand Tasting. Hazy golden amber colour, white head. Aroma is a bit rubbery (fietsband), sour, lemon acid, funky. Flavour is sour, tart, light funky, a touch rubbery, apples. Complex?! As with most Gueuzes, I get nothing else but acidic sourness or green apples. Not the worst I’ve had though.

Tasting of all 4 and this was by far my least favorite. Relatively malty and one dimensional with some heavy oak and lemon vinegar zing. Seems a bit fizzy compared to the others as well.
