COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Armand’4 Winter Oude Geuze is a blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old Lambic, brewed, aged, blended and bottled by Armand Debelder. This one-time and possibly the last bottling comes in a fancy Asti Spumante Champagne bottle. Armand only used Challenger hops in this brew. He’s in fact the only lambic-brewer to use Challenger hops to make his Geuze. 60 % malted barley, 40 % wheat, aged hops and water. Each season’s geuze has an unique and different blend.

cork comes off with the softest hiss in the world. it’s thanksgiving and i’m drinking this by myself on my couch. vigorous pours gives a dull copper hue with a couple sad looking air bubbles. aroma of musty old cellar, cowhide, rye bread, soft herbs, lemony lemonade. taste is moderate lemon sourness with an awesome dusty peach, apricot sweetness. also some toasted caramel, rye bread, apple. complex. awesome balance. easy-drinkin level of sourness. an awesome dry lemon, peach fuzz coats the mouth. basically no carbonation. initially i missed the carbonation, but this is just fine without. a deep rich bready, peachy version of armand’s signature dusty old rustic leather funk. easy drinkin. very good. unique.

Pours a hazy and amber beer with a white head. The aroma is sour with herbs and sulfur. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is acidic. Overall a good beer.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark golden orange with a huge slightly off-white head. Aroma is super funky with loads of barnyard funk and leather. Flavour is full of leather, loads of barnyard funk. Shitloads of depth and complexity, finishing on leather and huge dry funky notes. Phenomenal and my favourite of the Armand’4.

Great gueze, thicker and maltier than the others. Lemon and funk in the aroma and flavor. Carbonation is high and body is medium.

WAAAAAAAW ! one hell of a thanx to 77 ships. i did not like geuze at all, till i drank 3 fonteinen. i even enjoyed the golden blend, but this was the first one to blow me away. pours dark ( for a geuze) smells very balanced. white steady foam, so oh so drinkable. sour, vapourizes in your mouth . this tastes so soft, is so drinkable..... also bitter some hops, dry and again , so good !

Lemon wedge, sourdough, rather clean gueuze aroma coming out of the flawless deep cloudy gold hued liquid covered by an eternal healthy, dense and uniform white head. Not particularly intense perfume, citrus focused in a rather juicy way. Elegant and focused, but not from memory, perhaps not as complex as others from the series. Salt crackery wheat is fresh and accompanies the lemon focus nicely. Dry all throughout. Minerally lemon finish, brightly acidic yet soft, never feeling agressive, with no edges. Boasting a rare elegance on the palate, its bubbles being sharp and fairly large, but tingling and activating the palate, calling for thirst rather than biting viciously.

Thanks to Søren for this! Pours hazy amber with a white head. Aroma is rural with grapefruit. Has that cheesy quality to it along with some earthiness as well, Also some sour fruits and delis brett. Taste is kinda the same with some more bitterness - Grapefruit, floral notes, vinegar, herbs and ofc very tart and sparkling. love it!

Bottle Thanks Søren. Pours golden amber with a frothy head. Aroma immediately you get loads of lacto bacteria, dry sawdust, bitter dandelion, there is also quite a lot of must funk in there along with a big hot of sulfur, gunpowder and some leathery notes. I also get dry lemon, acidic notes, dusty notes, stable and wet wood. Very high carbonation, sparkling, champagne like, very dry, tart and acidic. loads of dry lemon, stable, sweet lemon and vinegar, funk, finishes off with gunpowder and sulfur.
