3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes. Tried side by side with the rest of the Armand’4s in early 2012. Winter pours a cloudy/hazy amber orange in color with a moderate amount of off-white head. The nose on winter differs from the other Armand’4 we’ve had, it is more perfume-like in my opinion. The funkiness is still there, but this is definitely perfumey in nature. The difference from the other Armand’4s continues in the taste. This is sweeter in comparison to the other 3. It is noticeably less acidic, sour and doesn’t have as much funky punch to it as the others either. Mouthfeel is light and creamy, with fizzy carbonation, light acidity, and a long finish. This is definitely the weakest of the 4 Armands. I would be hard pressed to buy this for any reason other than completing the set. In my eyes, this is a sufficient drop off in quality from the other 3.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Booom!!! Very big Gueuze, havent had a beer like this for a long time. Very intense in the nose, it’s like the funky sour hay-thing transcends into something else, very fresh sour apples, sourdough gone bad and vinegar. Tthe taste produces sunshine behind my closed eyelids - just incredible! Really worth the wait and money!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
"similar to Herfst (the descriptions are identical) but this blend comes across a little mellower, with the flavor and aroma not being quite as explosive. i don’t know if that means an older blend or a newer. i slightly prefer the Herfst to this, but they are both damn good. Lemons, aged hops, stinky cheese...very nice."

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle sample courtesy of "hannont". Colour...deep, hazy apricot with a corpulent white head. Nose...plenty of funk as well as yeasty bits, cotrus notes and those challenger hops. Palate...generous CO2 starts the show then the funky-acetic quality shows itself while being melded nicely with white vinifera grape essence and notes if tropical fruits. The mouthfeel is generous and plush, and finish dances gracefully across the soft palate.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
The last in a series of four seasonal geuzes, hopped with Challenger and blended from only 3 Fonteinen lambic. With the gainings of this and the other seasonal geuzes, Debelder tries to fund a new lambic brewery of his own, so never mind the price. Compact, stable head, complex and refined lambic aroma, sour cream, dry sherry, hay, horseblanket, bitter honey, fruity esters; very fruity taste, lively, sparkling like champagne, dry sourness but more ’mellow’ lactic acid than sharp citric acid and therefore a ’malse’ geuze, very well-balanced and very elegant, long complex finish. This is a truly wonderful geuze, among the best I’ve tasted so far, and I had most of them - it is just a pity I didn’t get the chance to compare this with the three other versions, thŕt would have been interesting...

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
First Armand to crack. Beautiful dark amber with rocky head. Very dark for such a young lambic. Classic 3F funk with more fruits. Aroma is more tame than the regular 3F, very classy. I really like the taste with definite sour cherries along with the funk. Very sour but somewhat sweet reminiscent of cherries. Full bodied but a little drier.
