Bottle shared with the Kernel crew.Very hazy amber beer. Good sized pale cream coloured head. Light dry palate. Light sourness with a little lemon lime. Initially there was a strong malty bread flavour but this died away quite quickly. Floral notes. Lots of brett and a whisper of honey and wood. Champagne crisp finish. Pretty good.

750 ml bottle @ RBNAG-11. Hazy orange body with a big off-white head. Nice fruity and acidic aroma, but milder than Lente. Flavor is tart and fruity acidic with plenty of barnyard funk, dryer than Lente. Quite similar to Lente, but with less aroma and a dryer flavor it becomes a bit less balanced and more challenging. Still very great stuff here.

Huge thanks to storminorman. Bottle pours cloudy apricot with an eggshell head. Aroma is tart and funky with notes of horseblanket, leather, lemongrass, oak, apple, and light peach. Flavor shows much of the same, yet is toned down a little in the funk department. Overall body is moderate and the finish is dry/acidic. Amazing beer, yet lente is more my style.

750ml bottle. Full bodied amber with a creamy off white head that stays the entire way through. Mmmmmmm. Nice amount of funk (grass and barnyard), some candied sugar sweetness is present, mellow but strong (if that makes sense) sourness. Very smooth, high carbonation, sour and milder funk then the aroma, some underlying sweetness, becomes dry, leaves a funk and sour residue that is incredible - complexity just keeps on coming with a variety of flavours. Very very good.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 Initial rating (2/24/2012): Gorgeous pour, tons of white head and lace. Beautiful. Aroma is pretty subtle though, with funky yeast and a mild fruitiness. Taste is complex and balanced; sourness and acidity are perfectly balanced too. A touch spicy. Really, really good. Medium body, great carbonation. I need MOAR!

Update 11/2/2013: I mustíve been allergy-ridden during my initial rating because the aroma on this gueuze is anything but subtle. Dank, funkadelic barnyard earthiness all up in my nose. Beautifully assembled flavor profile balances the soured grains against citrus, floral earthniess, wild yeast, and a kiss of bright spiciness.

After having this and the other Armandí4s a few times, I feel comfortable saying this is my favorite of the seasons. And itís aging like a champ!

Thanks bvc! Juicy lemon, dusty earthy nose. Faint cedar. Fizzy orange, more cedar, growing tartness through the sip. Very sharp and dry, young and pithy. Chewy. Pithy.

Bottle @ Too many Geuzeís - only one toilet , Ulfborg 2012 - Day 1. Golden color with a nice white head. Aroma, Brett, barnyard, lemon, straw, wet wood. Flavor is even better, quite complex but extremely balanced. Tart , lemon, oak, stable, some herbal spices notes. Very nice.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2012 Had this again next to lente and winter. Has taken over as the best of the 3. Incredible balance of the dusty rindy funk and bright fruits, well integrated, great stuff. Numbers from second bottle. **** Drank next to lente with Armand. Pour is a slightly brighter golden orange than the lente with a creamy tight light tan head that dissipates a bit more slowly than lente. The nose offers a fair bit of cheesy funk and dusty earth notes. light mineral touch with some spicy yeast towards the back and some notes of sweetness. hops offer some light bitter citrus. The flavor is more sweet than the nose, less cheesy funk but still pretty dusty brett type presence. juicy apricots, sour peaches, light citrus and some hop bitterness in the finish. the body is sturdy and creamy with a lively carbontion and very dry finish. Not quite as complex or tight as the lente but great balance of funk and sourness. should become even better.

Bottle from bleeng.
Pours deep cheddar with a nose of cherry, must, blanket, and leather. Flavor is leather, Sprite, and a blanket sitting atop a horseblanket. Pop rocks to a nice stream on the tongue. Does THIS brewer make non-awesome beer???

Thanks to foofaa yet again for sharing this one with us at our recent gueuze tasting. Served beside the other Armandí4ís. A - Pours hazy golden orange with a nice one and a half finger tall white head leaving small wisps of lace down the entire glass. S - Smells of fresh cut grass and plenty of funk initially with hints of lemons, apples, wet hay, oak and a touch of fruitiness. This one is seriously funky. T - Starts off with a decent sizes sour kick quickly giving way to hints of lemon zest, green apples, oak, wet hay and the ever present drie fonteinen funk. Not as sour as I was expecting, more funky really, with a bit more booze than some of the others. Finish is pretty dry, lingering on the pallet for quite awhile after consumption. M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Smooth, tart feel with a bit more booze than Lente, leaving the pallet dry after the finish. O - I still prefer Lente to this one but I would definitely say that this is the second best of the series. It has plenty of flavor yet it remains easy to drink, awesome stuff for sure.
