Bottle @ Too many Geuze’s - only one toilet , Ulfborg 2012 - Day 1. Golden color with a nice white head. Aroma, Brett, barnyard, lemon, straw, wet wood. Flavor is even better, quite complex but extremely balanced. Tart , lemon, oak, stable, some herbal spices notes. Very nice.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2012 Had this again next to lente and winter. Has taken over as the best of the 3. Incredible balance of the dusty rindy funk and bright fruits, well integrated, great stuff. Numbers from second bottle.
Drank next to lente with Armand. Pour is a slightly brighter golden orange than the lente with a creamy tight light tan head that dissipates a bit more slowly than lente. The nose offers a fair bit of cheesy funk and dusty earth notes. light mineral touch with some spicy yeast towards the back and some notes of sweetness. hops offer some light bitter citrus. The flavor is more sweet than the nose, less cheesy funk but still pretty dusty brett type presence. juicy apricots, sour peaches, light citrus and some hop bitterness in the finish. the body is sturdy and creamy with a lively carbontion and very dry finish. Not quite as complex or tight as the lente but great balance of funk and sourness. should become even better.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle from bleeng.
Pours deep cheddar with a nose of cherry, must, blanket, and leather. Flavor is leather, Sprite, and a blanket sitting atop a horseblanket. Pop rocks to a nice stream on the tongue. Does THIS brewer make non-awesome beer???

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Thanks to foofaa yet again for sharing this one with us at our recent gueuze tasting. Served beside the other Armand’4’s.
A - Pours hazy golden orange with a nice one and a half finger tall white head leaving small wisps of lace down the entire glass.
S - Smells of fresh cut grass and plenty of funk initially with hints of lemons, apples, wet hay, oak and a touch of fruitiness. This one is seriously funky.
T - Starts off with a decent sizes sour kick quickly giving way to hints of lemon zest, green apples, oak, wet hay and the ever present drie fonteinen funk. Not as sour as I was expecting, more funky really, with a bit more booze than some of the others. Finish is pretty dry, lingering on the pallet for quite awhile after consumption.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Smooth, tart feel with a bit more booze than Lente, leaving the pallet dry after the finish.
O - I still prefer Lente to this one but I would definitely say that this is the second best of the series. It has plenty of flavor yet it remains easy to drink, awesome stuff for sure.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 (12/02/2012) 75 cl. bottle split between me Tim and Klaas as our final beer of the RBWG 2012 gathering – I purchased this one at the Alvinne beer shop – poured into my 3F glass this beer simply looks gorgeous, a hazy golden, bright orange with the typical 3F head, very sizable and stable for a geuze – smell is very inviting, this is a very fruity one with a strong apple presence, just as with the lente, there is no cellar, mustiness here, a unique geuze in that aspect as well as others, fresh fruity lemons, lots of spices which carry on that fresh, summer / sunny feel that this beer has – taste starts out with a summery lemony bitterness, leading into the fruitiness, lots of apples, slight oranges, brett, leading into an amazing pepper laden, dry finish – spritzy carbonation making this very light and fluffy – another phenomenal geuze ////////////////////////////////////////////////// (31/12/2013) Tried another one, thx! Every bit as good still as it was, a full 4.9 at least. Thicker now, more funk, fuller, faint caramel, thick funky fruits, barnyard. Still drinking phenomenally.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: FEB 14, 2012 Poured into my 3 Fonteinen tumbler. The color is orange with a huge, frothy, white head. The head would not go away. Lacing was beautiful. Aromas of citrus, leather, some bread, basement aromas, and hints of cheese. Sourness was perfect with a short lasting clean finish. This beer was amazing. I need more.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottled (from bierkompass.de). Hazy orangeish amber colour, small white head. Aroma is farmyard, mild tart and sour wood. Flavour is really sour and tart with some wood and mild sour berries. If the lente was brilliance, this lacks a bit in the aroma, but then again kicks ass in the flavour. Not a lambic for beginners.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy orange-amber color, good off-white head. Fruity, grapes, barnyard, tart aroma but not as intensive as in Lente. Medium-bodied. Very sour .. I mean very ... lots of citrus, grapefruity tartness. Makes this a bit less drinkable than Lente. And certainly not a Lambic for beginners. But great lambic it is.
