(750ml bottle, Lot 26/03/2010, Bestvoor 03/2020) Pours a cloudy orange with a medium frothy beige head and lasting retention uncommon in a gueuze. Aroma florals, lemon, grapefruit, mustiness, barnyard, subtle caramel, and some butterscotch. Flavor of grapefruit, lemon, light mineral bite, brett, and oak with a dry finish.

Bottle at home, massive gusher warning, the cork shot off into the celling and just started gushing, pours a really nice foamy head, aroma is just sour smelling, the beer is one of the most sour beers I have had, this is massively expensive but It is worth the price, great offering. imo it is better then the lente offering

Bottle, courtesy of Nino from Sherwood. Smells of feet, basement funk, and fantastic champagne. Tastes amazing. Sweet, mildly bitter, sour, tart, fruity, basement, salty, umami.

Almost a nutty smell to it. Again, just like the lente. Nice toasty flavor with just a llittle bit of funk. Good.

Pours hazy orange with a whity head. Aroma is tart, sour berries, vinegar, yeasty bacteria, brett, horsy, cheesy, leathery and general fresh. Taste is even more sour than the lente and has all of those tarty-sour-fruity-barnyardy sour notes. Brett, lacto and a earthy kinda backbone. Love it!

Very few coments here but this is what I got: in comparison with the ’Lente’ this is much more on yeasty, brett flavors and less on citrus and passionfruit. Also more lively and a little less creamy in mouthfeel, making the ’Lente’ a little more enjoyable for me. This is still a textbook geuze in my opinion.

14/I/2012 75cl bottle @ RBBWG 2012 - bottled: 26/III/2010 (2012-58) Thanks to ships77 for bringing the bottle!

Little cloudy orange beer, aery unstable white head, non adhesive. Aroma: very spicy, some bretta, lemon juice, grassy. MF: too much carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lemony start, lots of bitter touches, pretty spicy, herbal, almonds. Aftertaste: lemon, some grapefruit, lemon peel, pretty bitter, pepper, dry bitter ending. 2 down, 2 to go.

Sampled at STLWill’s 30th b-day tasting. One of the bigger winners of the tasting for me. Pours hazy golden/copper with an off-white head. The aroma has blue cheese, citric/lactic acidity, grapefruit juice, wild yeast, bugs and everything comes together in a very fresh and crisp way. Medium body that is smooth for a gueuze with mild micro sharp carbonation. The flavor has less cheese, but all of the other aroma traits are there. There is a very sharp bright fruitiness that stands out. The finish remains refreshing and bright and while it’s got the funkiness it has a clean taste and gets spicier. Very complex, yet refreshing. Awesome beer.

Pours light amber with a small head. Aroma is clearly distinctivr from the Lente - more yeasty and puckering, full of funky brettanomyces and musty oak, not half as fruity as the Lente, funky notes of mature cheese, leather, barnyard, whatever horseblanket is - I think this one smells like it. Whereas the Lente was very sour taste, this one is even more sour. I actually like this one a bit more, cause it is more focused and, dare I say, more clean. Lots of barnyardy sourness, lactobaccilus, brettanomyces. Very nice.

Hazy orange of color with an off white head. An aroma of horseback, wet dog, sour, dry and weak bitter. A flavor of wet dog, horseback, dry, bitter and a fresh finish.
