Many thanks to daknole for sharing the spring and the summer bottles side by side at his 5000th rating party -- quite a treat! Pours slightly darker then the spring’s golden hue with a whispy white head. Loaded with dairy and farmhouse in the aroma. Builds in flavor with under-ripe fruit notes that assault the palate. Hurts so good.

Shared bottle at the RBNAG-11 grand tasting. Hazy golden with a white rim. Fruits, berries, grapefruit, light notes vinegar and wood on the nose. Acidic, fruity flavors with a hint of vinegar. Medium body. Astringent. Grows in the mouth.

0.75l bottle @ RBNAG11. Pours a hazy orange body with a medium sidesticking and lightly lacing white head. Aroma is light sour, branches, lemon-sourness, perhaps some fruity strawberriey tones. Aggressive carbonation level and a fizzing-oily mouthfeel. Lemon-sour flavors, brett, wood, ends really dry and delicious. Thank’s for sharing!

Shared bottle, RBNAG 2011. Golden colour. Difficult to distinguish this from the Lente, but Zomer is slightly less woody and even more lemony in both aroma and flavour.

Bottle. Courtesy of Chris. Pours a cloudy amber color with a fluffy white head. The aroma is old (as put by Ben), with notes of mildew, basement, slight diesel, and lemon - now I know this doesn’t sound pleasant but in fact it is and I find myself hovering over the glass trying to take in as much as I can. Light mouthfeel. Lemon, acidic, barnyard, pear, and a slight bitter rind grapefruit taste. Young and tasty. The bitterness is a little off for me but otherwise a really good beer.

It pours beautiful bright orange amber with a decent white head for the style. It smells light tart, sweet, and floral with an easiness in the nose. The flavor is lightly dry, tart, a bit sweet and perfectly carbonated. Excellent on a summer day.

A - A hazy dark amber pour with 2 fingers of off white head recede to 1mm of head that never goes away, and leaves a few legs. S - Funky, earthy, musty cut grass, with a light citrus note. Oak is also showing up just like it did in the Lente. T - This is an earthy gueuze, lightly acetic, and has some oak. Mild and balanced right out of the gates. M/D - Medium carbonation with a smooth body, and a dry slightly tannic finish. It’s very clean. Lente is bright and exciting, but this is more traditional and so well balanced. Finishing a whole bottle would be a treat. I’d love to try this again in a few years.

gunnar (4865) - Sandnes, NORWAY - OCT 18, 2011
Shared bottle at RBNAG-11. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma is a bit weaker than the Lente, still enjoyable enough, with farmyard and even some manuer. Taste is dry, tart, refreshing, fizzy and funky fruity. Good drinkability.

Bottle, bought @ EG.
Pours almost clear pale orange with a big, lovely, staying, creamy, off-white head. Great lacings. Fantastic looks for a gueuze. Aroma is fruity, oranges, oak, lime, light lactic. Medium carbonation, dry and fairly creamy palate. Sticks a bit to my teeth. Flavour is quite tart, lime, citric, mild funkiness, dry, lactic, oak and a bit of pepper. More attacking than the Lente, yet immensely well balanced, and really good looking.

Pours a golden/light amber with a huge white head. Slighly hazy. Actually the bottle exploded on me, big gusher. Long lasting foam which leaves lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is similar to Lente ("wet wood, strong funkyness with fruitiness") but with more citrus and vinous notes. Sweet/acidic nose. Taste is rich and again similar to Lente ("strong funkyness again and tartness sorrounded by a sort of yogurt-like sweetness. Huge citrus and lemon peel notes. Grassy notes in the background. Some wood and fruit too"). Differently from Lente, Zomer tastes fresher, with more citrus notes and less dust. The spiciness in the taste is more defined too, with clear notes of nutmeg. Mostly dry finish. Palate is creamy, silky, with good carbonation. Overall, this stands up there with Lente, fantastic blend. The backbone is similar but these are definitely two different beasts and I can’t choose the one I loved the most. Again, glad I had a whole bottle for myself.
