75 cl bottle @ Kaisla. Bottled 26.03.2010, BBE 03/2020
Aroma is leathery with farmhouse aromas and grapefruit. Flavour is really tart with lots of grapefruit, some rowanberries and distant lactic notes. Foamy palate. Excellent, although the lactic notes try to ruin the show. Lente is slightly better.

Bottle shared with my buddy Jared. My last of the Armand 4 series. Blooming slightly off-white head that actually lasts fairly long, slightly hazy darker rust orange. Loads of leather, deep, deep, deep aromas of wood, earth, hay, leaves, funk, only slight acidity. Leathery, wood, earth, funky, but perhaps one of the driest beers I’ve had. Medium to lighter body for the style, with bright vibrant carbonation. Yep, this is the best beer I have ever had thus far.

750ml bottle, cloudy dark amber hue, with a bubbly beige head, leaving some belgian laces, nice bretty, funky, wild yeast, barnyard, fruity, sour nose, of green apples, rhubarbs, lemons, with some light spicy floral herb, leathery, tart, musty white grape accents, and with a lemon, grapefruit acidic juice, faint floral citrus hop note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice juicy lemon acidic, bretty, funky yeastiness, wet oak woody, tart character, with some grapefruit, lime peel zestiness, lemon pie, sour green apple, rhubarb flavours, leading towards a funky, bretty, wild yeast, acidic, sour white wine tart, sharp dryness finish.

(Rating #5299)

750ml botle from IPB. Side by side tasting of the four seasons. Hazy amber small.foamy head. Nose juicy herbal hops citrusy juicy citrusy notes. Fairly similar to the lente on the nose. More.carbonation than lente. Citrusy and acidic. Nice small.bubbles carbonation. Maybe a bit more citrusy than lente. Great citrusy notes quite drinkable and elegant. More character than the lente.

My Bottom Line:
Beautifully citrusy, this fluffy Oude Gueuze expresses its wilderness and potent sourness through a lovely bone-dry mouthfeel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sizeable head of foam covers the muddy amber.
-This one felt drier and less overtly yeasty than the rest of the 4, which is probably why I felt like its flavor were expressed more clearly.
-Sourness is higher than other Armand’4 blends, I believe.
-This was not the most complex of the 4 necessarily. Its flavors simply hit the spot more than average, for me.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden liquid with medium to big white head. Aroma of red berries, lemon peel, apple skin, earth, light barnyard and light dark fruit. Taste is dry and medium sour with notes of apple skin, earth, barnyard and light bread. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Really, really good.

Bottle was already open when I arrived so don’t know if it was a gusher or not. Pours a bright gold with a bubbly head. Smells of green apple, citrus, lemon zest with a horse blanket funk. Definitely a brighter fruitier flavor than the other two. The flavor I get most is green apple, but some citrus, pear and lemon as well. A little overly tart as the dank earthiness present in Lente and Herfst isn’t as strong here. Finishes with a crisp, pretty clean lactic finish. Mouthfeel is good and creamy with good carbonation levels. Very great beer, but doesn’t hold a candle to the other two which speaks more to how awesome the others are.
