3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: The beer pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a tall white head.
S: Funk and grass, two of the trademarks of Drie Fonteinen gueuze, start this one off. Lots of lemon zest and lemon juice tartness to go with a rather musty funk and some green apple.
T: Lots of grass, lemon zest, and green apple tartness to this. A rather barnyardy funk, plenty of must and earth to it, too. There is a light grape and peach flavor on the finish with a sharp acidity.
M: Medium bodied with a medium to high carbonation.
O: Definitely a good gueuze. As with Lente, however, not sure it’s worth the additional cost.
