Brewed in collaboration with Armand Debelder and Frank Boon at De Proef, essentially a recreating of the original Bohemian Pilsener.

Light orange. 2 finger sticky white head. 375ML bottle I picked up today at the brewery. Aroma is weak. maybe hay and grass and lemon. I’m not a fan of the taste though. has an old hops taste, some burnt malts, not refreshing. it does have a good yeast profile but that’s all.

*Exceptional* lager. Pilsner? No. Lager? Eff-yeah. FTW. Strong, flavorful malty notes. Goes done smooth. Highly recommended.

Pour is a ugly looking murky yellow greenish with a large white head. Aroma is typical lager grainy malt with a crisp cracker. Flavor is dry malt a light hopping but some wet paper bag is there as well. Fancy bottle but nothing special.

Bohemian style Pilsener, a style seldomly seen in Belgium. Clear, deep golden blonde, stable, snow white head; malt sweetish character, a bit bready, with sharp carbonation and noble, grassy, aromatic hop bitterness in the finish. Very decent - in fact, one of the better Belgian lagers I had so far, though admittedly that doesn’t usually mean a whole lot.

Bottle. Pours clear golden in color with an off-white head. Grainy notes at first, hints of citrus and damp cellar in aroma. Bitter grassyness, summer meadow and bready notes in taste.

Has a decent, froth head, with a pale golden, slightly cloudy color. Nose is defined by a moldy funkiness with typical lager qualities, wooden, toasty malts with bitter hops and hints of straw. Has an enjoyable, gentle bitterness to it, which goes well along with straw, white bread malts and a funky, brett defined leather note. Hops interact in an interesting fashion with the earthy malts, on which the funkiness settles. Unfortunately those different flavors don’t seem to come together too well until the very finish, in which rich, earthy malts become the most recognizable flavor. Ends a little watery, with a very late hops impact, which tastes a bit ankward because of the added acidity.
