Smells ofsome crisp grain, subtle hops, with light citrus and lemon zest. Nothing special, but not bad. The flavor is semi-sweet, with a mild hop presence. a bit overcarbonated in my opinion, but didnt stand out too much. not huge on flavor or excitement, but fairly refreshing. Average. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 9, 2008 Violent pour from the bottle results in a large, lasting head & a slightly coudy glowing gold body. Nose is grassy & lemony hops, a solid, lightly toasted malt backbone. Strange to say but that malt is ’spritzy.’ Flavor is hoppy - grass mostly, then a rich maltiness, lemon, caramel, a hint of butteryness. Big body. Jerre (1768), Waregem, Belgium

I have been on the look out for this one since I read about it in Joe Stange’s book. I was delighted to find a bottle at Blue Max in Burnsville, Minnesota. Pour is slight haze golden light copper with a pretty one inch fluffy white head. Aroma of straw, mineral and earthy malt with a mild sweetness near the back. Taste is a nice blend of the straw and grass malt and the biscuit floral sweetness, with interesting floral hop notes near the middle. The finish has the mineral and earthiness. Lingers just long enough to highlight the mineral. Really clean. Palate is medium thin, smooth, very easy drinking. I liked this one a lot. I am a sucker for unfiltered mineral Pils with a decent hop bill.
