Commercial Description:
Blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old lambic. Fermented and lagered in oak vessels. In this bottle the young yeast is brought to sleep ('ingedoesjeld') so the original lambic flavors are preserved. This beer has no head, just like lambic. The lambic is brewed with 60% barley, 40% wheat, last years hop

After finally getting the cork off, this pours a slightly hazed copper with zero head. Aroma is sour funk, cheese, white grape, hay, light nectarine. Flavor is funky hay and sour lemon, very white wine esque, sour green apple, Sauvignon Blanc. Cool, soothing mouthfeel, no carbonation to speak of, one of the only styles that this sort of mouthfeel works with in my opinion. Some funky cheesiness in the center, with a bitter more hay. No hop presence to speak of. Mild, funky, and pleasant. Ive had better 3F but this is nice.

375ml bottle from K&L in Redwood City, dated Feb. 23, 2006. Pours a crystal clear copper color with a small white head after an aggressive pour despite the "no head" beer description. Head fades to a ring before long. Aroma is funky barnyard, pretty typical of the style. White wine, oak, and a little bit of cheesiness, along with llama (mmm, llama). Flavor is also very funky with barnyard, horseblanket, and llamablanket. Fruity flavors also in there, mostly white wine and sour green apple. A little cheese on the finish and a substantial oak presence. Sourness is not over the top, and the beer is nicely balanced and complex. The palate is mildly acidic, and there is pretty much no carbonation, as expected. Overall a very good gueuze.

Bottle. Pours a nice flat dirty orange color. Nose is light funky barnyard, some cheese, and a nice sour fruit note. Palate is flat and smooth. There is a light fizziness to it. Flavor is light cheese with some funky barnyard background. A very nice nice sour note that calms as the beer warms.

375mL corked and caged. Pours a deep cloudy orange with no head and little to no carbonation. Aroma is very geuze like with some leather, Granny Smith apples, unripe green pear, Brett, oak, fresh/ionized rainforest earthiness from after a storm. Taste is incredibly sour with lots of lactic acid, light balsamic vinegar, loads of green apples, unripe pear, sour apricots. Leaves a tart stickiness in the back of the throat.

A: Pours a very hazy lighter shade of orange. Pretty flat in appearance no real life here. S: Whoa, tons of stinky burnt rubber, latex, with a somewhat medicinal type flavor. I am sure there are other scents beneath this but I will not expose my self to the nastiness to find them. T: Burnt rubber, and other industrial compounds that should not be picked up in beer. Beneath the horridness there is some apple, tart lemon, and vinegar. Meh! M: On the lighter side of medium okay carbonation. D: Hated it.

Flat pour, some large bubbles that rolled out quickly. Hazy orange color. Funky nose, fruity with apples and light wood. Body is light, thin on the palate, lightly tart and sour. Flavors of wet leather, funk, straw, light wood, apples and some faint vinous notes. Dry lightly tart finish, musty and lightly oxydative. Feb. 2006 on label. Bottle procured @statelineliquors. Something of a let down.

330 mL bottle acquired in trade with radiomgb. (bottled Feb 23, 2006.) Hazy orange-brown with no head. Almost flat. (But not quite.) Wild yeast, fruit, wheat, and powdered sugar in the aroma. Flavour is sour, although not overly so. Some apple cider characteristics, and a little bit of oak. Dry finish. Not too familiar with the style, but this isn’t bad. I’ll try it again.
