Commercial Description:
Blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old lambic. Fermented and lagered in oak vessels. In this bottle the young yeast is brought to sleep ('ingedoesjeld') so the original lambic flavors are preserved. This beer has no head, just like lambic. The lambic is brewed with 60% barley, 40% wheat, last years hop

Bottle at Poechenenellekelder, Brussels, 24-07-08 Poured hazy golden orange. Soft lemonyness musty wet leathery aroma, some oakiness wonderfully refreshing and tart, its also quite sharp at the end, lovely.

2006: Pour is hazed deep golden apple juice color, and completely still...smell is lightly funky and tart with lots of citrus and faint sugary notes...the sourness in the flavor only comes in on the back side and it is mild....sweet and citric almost...not sweet like artificially sweet, but sweet none the less...

Bottled at home. Bottle date 17-02-2006. Hazy orange/golden coloured, no head. Typical lambic-nose, smells like a farm, fruity notes. Sour flavour, very "old", complex, but not extremely. Somewhat thin mouthfeel, perhaps because of the lack of carbonation. Lasting sour and somewhat tart finish. Nice lambic, but nevertheless i think better gueuzes are out there.

Bottled Feb. 23,2006. This golden lambic ale poured with a thin off-white head and a sharp citric aroma. There were bubbles rising from the bottom to the top of my geuze tumbler. Thre is a sour fruit flavor witha a bitter yeast finish and oak undertones.

Splendida gueuze atipica con un nome che non riuscirò mai a pronunciare: grazie mille Sergio (Mr. Chiodi) per aver condiviso con me questa fantastica bottiglia dopo una jam session leggermente ubriaca.

Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy yellowy brown with no head at all. Nose is nice and tart, punchy, slightly dusty. Mouth is - wow - tart, sharp, fruity, lemony, orangey. No fizziness in here, in fact the cork took long enough to remove. Finishes oaky, slightly fusty again, and with a lasting sour tone. Very good indeed.

375 ml corked and caged bottle my Dad picked up for me at Zipps in Minneapolis, set aside by tytoanderso. Feb 23, 2006 bottling date - that would make this 18 months old at time of tasting. Cork was quite difficult to pull. Opens with a loud pop, and there is immediate sour funkiness. Pour is hazy yellow orange with only a few soapy looking bubbles for a head. Aroma is nice, soft Brett yeastiness. Very wild and delicate smelling. Some tart sour lemon citrus present as well. Floral notes. Taste is flat, really no carbonation to speak of, the wild earthiness of the nose is in the taste, but even more muted. The sour tartness picks up in the middle, and is nicely integrated with the funkiness. Very much lemon. The aftertaste is woody, dry and a bit cardboardy. The oakiness lingers a bit. Thanks for making this happen Tyler.

Had at Oud Arsenal in Antwerp on 6/20. Pours gold body with no head. Nose of lemons and sour apples. Initial taste balances sweet fruit malts with tghe sour elements, but the sour elements take over, and last a long time. Very nice beer.
